First time at captains boil and the staff was very kind with guiding us with how their system works. They have a sign with daily market pricing of the seafood. They also have set combos with different flavoured sauce that was great to try. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

If you don't mind getting your food in a bag, then wear gloves and enjoy a messy lunch. Delicious sea food! Combos could be better, but you can choose additional options.

Got lobster rolls and captains boil shrimp. Always so good. Bread is a little hard but great flavour. Service is okay, mopping already while we were still eating so the fumes are strong. Thyre friendly but little heads up is better. Great playlist

A friend has been asking us to visit this place since she knows we love seafood, specially crustacean. Finally we visited on a Sunday evening, there were not much people, a few big tables were being served. We opted for the captains boil mussels and snow crab while the shrimps were with garlic sauce. Level of spice was medium. Sides were corn, potato and okra. We also had the sausage fried rice and chicken wings for my friend. Seafood were all yummy. Loved both of the sauces. The rice was also good, though the sausage was a bit dry. We added some sauce to the rice so it helped with the sausage. The chicken wings was okay. As for the service, the staff were all attentive and they kept checking on us and asking if we still need anything, in a non-intrusive manner, more of a friendly approach. Over all, its a good place to go if you want to satisfy your seafood craving. Would definitely come again.

We went here to eat yesterday and towards the end of the meal we started to feel sick. By the time we arrived home it was very clear that we had food poisoning. Spent the entire night vomiting etc. In addition, service was horrible. We weren’t provided with plates to eat. Our food was dropped on the table and no one ever came to check in on us (and the restaurant was empty so it wasn’t a matter of servers being very busy). Overall very poor experience. The seafood was obviously not fresh and it’s really disappointing. I’ve gone to other locations before and had great experiences. I’d avoid this location at all costs if you don’t want to get sick. We had the Shrimp boil, the Clam boil in the Captain Boil sauce and we had the Shrimp Fried Rice.

Came here because my usual place for fish and chips was taking last order at 830pm for dinner in. I noticed these guys were open till 10pm. I was a bit nervous because I saw some negative reviews when I pressed on the recent reviews tab; but saw that sandwiched with some great reviews. When I got here in the Scarborough location for the first time at 845pm the parking lot was almost empty and the restaurant was empty except for a few people at one table. I figured I’d give it and try it. I’m glad I did. Lots of fish meat in the fish and chips. Is not the traditional halibut slab… but for the price, quality and service it was good. Slightly greasy, but not overly. Generally all fried fish will be slightly greasy. I will def come back again and waitress recommended the shrimp fried rice for next time.. will def try that (: All and all… fish and chips was great 😊

Had a great experience for my first time at Captains Boil. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we came in. They promptly assisted me to my seat once I told them about my reservation. When we sat down, our server introduced herself, and asked if we had any questions on the menu and if we wanted to have anything to drink. She was able to answer all of our questions, including the specials, price differences etc (she was basically very knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant) The food came promptly after we ordered and wow, I was excited to get down and dirty with my hands. We ordered everything mild with the captains boil sauce (which tasted amazing). Everything was hot, and the sauce was very flavourful! The hardest part was keeping our phone and clothes clean, and grabbing napkins haha. Will definitely come back again in the future for another feast. Thank you for making our experience great! You first choose your fish-lobster, crab, clams or shrimp, then sauce and then the heat-mild to fire and add ons and side dishes. I ordered the shrimp and 2 sides which were corn and half a potato in a bag. The price was market price which was $20. My husband got the seafood rice and there was enough for two. It did have heat. There were 3 servers there and they were very friendly and helpful. I would have liked my bag of food to come on a large plate instead of a little saucer. I had to ask for more napkins cause he only brought me one. It does get messy eating out of the bag. They do provide plastic gloves and a bib. Also I would prefer and I’m sure others would to is to have ice water in a glass instead of tepid water in a plastic glass. I like that they were decorated for Christmas with a tree and decorations.
