The Captain's Boil

I’ll never come back to this restaurant ! Never ever. For some reason, we ordered the same exact order we used to do and the quantity was surprisingly very little !! When I talked to the management, they said we can do nothing about it ! All we can do is give you a 10% discount but we cannot !! Really ? I’d give you a tip way more than your poor managerial decision ! When you don’t care about your customers, you’ll pay the price soon or later.

This location is a gem! The food is incredible, and the service is top-notch. There are ample seats and ample parking, making it a great spot for when you crave seafood boil!

I must say this captain boil is the worst I’ve ever been and I’ve been to the one in Scarborough, Etobicoke, North York and Mississuaga. When my friends and I arrive there a lot of people that was before us who left and we assumed that changed there mines. There was no one to seat us. We stood there for 20mins waiting for someone to acknowledge us somewhere that wasn’t busy at all. We spot a table. There were more dirty tables than there were clean ones And the promptness to clear the tables were ridiculously. Of course after seating ourselves it took us another 30mins before we us acknowledge one of the servers had ear phones in and had on flip flops. Had this point I wanted to leave but by this time it was already after 9pm and I spoke highly of captain boils and everybody was hungry and ear to try. I ordered a honey dew drink and what I got looked like curdled milk and Water, tasted even worst I order a choose ur catch with okras on as my side my friends order the same with potatoes in the side. Tell me why this lady insisted that I ordered broccoli and what was funny too she asked all the tables that we went there and saw if they ordered broccoli so of course my okras and my friends boils potatoes came after we were almost done eating. Now let’s do the maths we got there at 8:10pm saw a bunch of dirty tables and at 10pm when I was leaving the tables still Wasn’t even clean. Don’t let me get started on what I walked into when I went to the washroom. I should have went from the time I called and they said there’s no wait time, like how?? It’s a holiday and every other captain boils were packed. Something must have been wrong for this one. Well I’ve attached photos of my disappointment. And remember it’s my experience not your so I don’t want anyone coming for me IT WAS MY WORST EVER!!!!

This Captains Boil location is possibly my favorite restaurant! Other locations you may beware as they are not all the same! I highly recommend THIS LOCATION! This location when you get your bag of boiled seafood there's a nice (spicy) buttery sauce, which is the most important thing for me! I visited another location once, and it was all dry and nasty, but their service and atmosphere were garbage too... I definitely recommend getting the sausage (premium side) and getting it added to the bag along with corn on the cob! Mmmmmmm, it's so delicious when it gets cooked in that sauce!

I was extremely excited to bring my friend to Captain's Boil as she had never been. The calamari was good but I was disappointed with the lobster poutine as it lacked lobster. Both fried rice dishes and wings were delicious. The mussels had way too much garlic in the Captain's Boil sauce. What disappointed me the most was the customer service. I asked for a simple substitution for my meal to not have fries but I would prefer to have corn or garlic bread. The first server was happy to accommodate until another server came along and completely berated her in front of our table for 5 minutes. When they finally decided to acknowledge us and continue with taking our dinner orders, the first server advise she could make the change to garlic bread only which I accepted. Just before we ended our meal we were asked if we needed to use the bathroom as it would not be available once cleaned. These interactions were extremely unprofessional and awkward; this left a bad taste/client experience. I have been to Captain's Boil before but will not visit the York Mills location again because of the lack of customer service.
