The Broadview Diner

Had a long leisurely brunch here with my daughter over the Xmas holidays. It was busy and we got a table for two in the window. We sat for a couple of hours and the waitress didn’t rush us. She forgot several things - my daughter ordered tomatoes as a side and had to remind her 2 or 3 times, but it was very busy. I found that the acoustics were terrible; everyone seemed to be shouting at the tables around us. If you have a problem with hearing in loud rooms, this would not be a good restaurant for you. I struggled to hear a lot of what my daughter was saying across the small table. The food was good. Especially the potatoes!Nice menu and atmosphere. I like the place (just don’t love the acoustics - which may be somewhat better in a booth..? or a different part of the restaurant; we sat in the far corner by the window).

Conveniently located at the southeast corner of Danforth and Broadview, just a short walk from the Broadview TTC station, this cozy spot combines a retro, eclectic charm with an inviting atmosphere. The large windows bathe the diner in natural light, creating a welcoming space that feels both vibrant and relaxed. Despite being a busy and popular spot, the service is impressively fast and friendly. From the moment we were greeted with menus and water, it was clear that this diner prioritizes excellent hospitality. The food exceeded all expectations—fresh, delicious, and truly satisfying. I chose the Salmon Benedict, a perfectly balanced dish with a creamy hollandaise sauce and a generous portion of salmon. My companion opted for the all-day breakfast, and it was diner perfection. The fluffy scrambled eggs, expertly cooked peameal bacon, crispy home fries, and syrup-drenched pancakes were the epitome of comfort food. Every bite tasted homemade and flavorful, leaving us thoroughly impressed. What stood out even more was the efficiency of the staff. Despite managing multiple tables, the kitchen, and payments, they delivered prompt and attentive service without missing a beat. With spacious seating, reasonable prices, and a warm, nostalgic ambiance, the Broadview Diner is a must-visit for a satisfying meal at any time of the day.

I arrived on a Sunday morning around 10:30. I was staying at a homestay in the area and on my way to Pearson, with my rolling suitcase. The place was moderately busy when I arrived, with some tables open. I was quickly seated at a window table, with ample room to stow my suitcase out of the way. Service was quite prompt, pleasant, and attentive (with the exception of coffee refills). The servers understood about my hearing disability and seemed to have shared that info among themselves as they were all careful to use gestures or ensure that they got my attention so that I could lip read. Everything on the menu looked delicious and I needed extra time to decide. I got the steak (medium) and eggs. It came with great portions and wonderful food. By the time I was leaving around 11:15, the place had filled up considerably. The decor was fun and the space felt roomy and comfortable. Definitely one of my better dining experiences in Toronto and I've been to the city many times. 12/10 would come back.

My friend and I had the chance to grab brunch in this bright, charming dinner. Breakfast was fantastic, I ordered the smoked meat benedict; the Swiss cheese and hollandaise sauce was a perfect combination in the meal. My friend ordered the breakfast platter, which offered a great assortment of food. Everything tasted great and the servers are always so friendly!

This all-day breakfast spot offers a wide variety of delicious options at any time. We tried "The Ultimate French Toast," Mediterranean skillet, pancakes, and the spinach mushroom omelette. The portions were larger than expected, but everything tasted fantastic. The flavors were spot-on, and each dish was satisfying. Highly recommended for breakfast lovers!

This place is unique. It has all the charm of an old diner with the wonderful vibe of a vintage space. Food is really tasty. It has everything you could find on a diner with vegan and vegetarian options. Potatoes are awesome. And the service is kind and on top of things. All in all, a great experience. We found it casually a week ago and although we don't live in the area here we are again.

Great spot with reasonable prices! The waiter was really attentive, giving us water with our menus and the food was out quick and hot. The fish and chips were delicious, and from the amount of orders around me it seems that the shepherd's pie is a popular pick! I will definitely be returning.

Been wanting to try this place for a while as I love diner food but nothing about our experience here stood out. The food was okay but nothing special and I don’t even know why they put the least juicy slice of orange on the plate. The server wasn’t friendly at all as well and made us feel very unwelcome.
