The Black Pony Café and Snack Bar is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.
We are a dusk to dawn operation. We offer specialty coffees, freshly baked-in-house pastries, made to order snack food, craft beers and cocktails, and natural and bio-dynamic wines. We believe in supporting small and local, in everyway. That’s why we source as much as possible from our neighbors. We want to see our community thrive as a collective hub.

A lovely place for a quick coffee to go with really tasty pastries. The vibe to me was very cool and welcoming. I had to take my Dijon croissant and flat white to go. The 🥐 was really fresh buttery and flavourful. The coffee was poured to the brim and well made.

Went for a cappuccino. The vegan nut cake was fabulous. Would highly recommend the coffee . One of the best I’ve had in town. The staff are chilled and genuine. Go and try it out!

I like the black pony a lot, I’ve been here quite a few times over the years. Space is great for working in, and the lighting is low. There’s good access to plugs. Baked goods are really good, especially the scones and the savoury danishes. Coffee and other cafe beverages are consistently middle of the road, but still go well with the snacks they have. Service is good and fast. The food they serve when it becomes a bar at night is also great, and the alcoholic beverages are better than the cafe ones.

Such a lovely, unique place. We dined here with friends and it was such a good experience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and service is great. We had the cheese platter, the hummus platter, pierogies, paper planes (cocktail), and Ceasars (which were absolutely amazing). The drinks were just perfect and honestly among the best I’ve had in Toronto. Will certainly visit again!

Double Pony Smash Burger, Kitchen Sink Salad, Chicken Schnitzel - The best things come in pairs, double juicy patties, double american cheese, and two buns that's balanced with a slight bit of freshness? Nice. A refreshing salad to balance the unhealthiness of the burger, each ingredient providing their own harmonizing flavours together, especially loving the natural sweetness of the corn. Finally, a toast sourdough ciabatta that's moist and airy with a fried chicken schnitzel, honey, and a melody of pickled ingredients for a complete bite.

My favorite coffee shop in Toronto! The pastries are unbelievable. Coffee is good too. Decor and ambience is hip, cool. I look forward to coming here each time I’m in the area.

This place has been my saving grace during a COVID mat leave. Staff is incredibly friendly, coffee is strong and hands down the best croissant I’ve had in the city. Also very baby friendly. I never remember to get a pic before I dive in - hence the half eaten treats. Update : no longer my fav 🥐, still good but not the same after the original baker left.
