We recently had the pleasure of dining at Tharavad South Indian Restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience! The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors that really captured the essence of South Indian cuisine. The service was equally impressive—Kripa, who served us, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Sreejith, at the front counter, treated us with such warmth and courtesy, making us feel truly welcomed. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving incredible food and exceptional service!

Our first time having Kerala food. We are use to highly spicy foods but this was different. Fish Nirvana was recommended so we tried it, nice and rich curry with pomfret fish. Tea was great, milk appam was good, butter chicken was really good. Service was really great, Namitha was helping us at our table. Very professional, helpful and welcoming person.

New experience of tasting authentic kerala food. The food was spicy. I have eaten in small towns in kerala, but not this spicy. Srilankan and Kerala cuisine are similar. Novel way of serving food in clay pots and packed food similar to what you get at train stations in the southern part of India.

The service was extremely disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being busy, no one checked on us after the food was served. I had to leave my seat to call for assistance, and the waitress was rude, unfriendly, and even aggressive in her behavior. The plates were left uncleared for a long time as we sat there, which made the experience unpleasant, especially since I had come with a friend to celebrate Christmas. This discouraged us from ordering anything else. To top it off, I had to go to the counter to request the bill. Only then did the waitress decide to bring it over. The lack of attention and poor attitude of the staff were shocking. On top of that, the washrooms were not clean, and it seemed like the employees didn’t care about the guests or the overall upkeep of the place. Mr. Johns is far superior when it comes to both service and food. I will not be returning to this restaurant and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Ordered take out of pothi choru, Kerala porotta, Fish Nirvana and Payam pori with Ullivada. Fish Nirvana was awesome it was really decadent rich with coconut milk mildly spiced perfect combination with porotta. Nothing to complain at all made my day. Very rarely do we find such a restaurant. Kuddos to the chef and Tharavadu team. Will visit again to try other items on their menu.

The Kerala food here is really good and the prices are fair. It gets pretty packed in the evenings, and parking can be a pain. But the staff is super friendly.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this T haravadu and tried their beef roast. Absolutely amazing! The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly spiced. On top of that, the customer service was exceptional. Jeena Kripa and Sona went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensured we had a great experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving delicious Kerala cuisine!

Testing out the kerlas scene in Scarborough and came across this gem that was open late. The food was amazing! Had the mutton biriyani, parotta, beef roast, king fish masala. Everything was honestly really good, and the beef roast was probably my personal favorite.
