Tavolino, nestled in the Humanities Wing at 1265 Military Trail, is a true gem in Scarborough. This Italian restaurant offers a delightful escape into authentic Italian cuisine, right on the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is charming, with a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance that’s perfect for both casual lunches and more intimate dinners. The staff greeted us with genuine hospitality, making us feel like cherished guests. The menu at Tavolino is a celebration of Italian flavors. I started with the bruschetta, which was perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of crunch. For the main course, I chose the homemade gnocchi with a rich, creamy sauce that was simply divine. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce had a depth of flavor that showed the chef’s dedication to quality and authenticity. My dining companions were equally thrilled with their choices – the Margherita pizza was a standout, with a thin, crispy crust and fresh toppings that transported us straight to Italy.
