Taste of Hakka

Food is so good, but I was surprised to see the price of the trays go up (for lollipop chicken it’s not a discount at all from the regular price if you buy the tray). Just a caution to double check. The food is delicious and I love supporting small businesses.

Alhamdulillah. Food was good, got exactly what i ordered. Chili chicken (white meat) extra spicy, with egg fried rice a spring roll and a coke Thank you for giving me extra fortune cookies as requested Service was adequate, I came in unsure and indecisive. They did answer my questions but sort of without conviction. Without being disrespectful it’s fair to say service could Allways be better. Chicken was great, saucy pieces of spicy chicken. Loved the onions and toppings/ingredients. Gravy was also very warm, flavourful and went well with the rice. Egg fried rice is hard to mess up, they did it well. I will however mention I could taste the slightest bit of burnt, didn’t bother me but might the next person. Ordered a lunch deal, decided to dine in. Was given my food on a plate with one spoon, a fork would have been useful. Also maybe a napkin and if they brang over the spices tray I would have noticed and appreciated. Restaurant atmosphere was not bad. Nice holiday decorations with a mix of their own niche heritage . Will mention it was slightly cold, bring a hoodie! Lastly the place was clean, they didn’t leave tables messy after customers left. I hope this can be used as constructive criticism and not taken the wrong way. My last wish is to add Mumbai chicken to the menu. Thank you for your business and for having me.

I ordered my food waited for the 20 minutes. They gave me the wrong meal. It was drenched in sauce. I told her it was supposed to be dry. She said okay I will fix it. She brought it back and it was still soaking in whatever it was they poured on it. I suspect she went to the back and just removed some gravy and bring me back the same meal. It tasted horrible.

What a shock. Ive been a costumer since i moved to vaughan in 2009. Never had a complaint, but this review took 3 days, since thats how long it took to get over my nausea from their takeout. I paid extra for white meat. Not only was the order in correct, especially when the rude lady confirmed it 3 times in person (i ordered at the restaurant). The noodles were stale, the chicken was mushy, the only think fresh was the steamed rice. Its true ever since covid, this place went up in cost but down in service and quality. I used to order every month or so, but trust me its not worth the 70 dollar price tag for two meat dishes and a vege hakka noodle. Many other places available, better than this disgrace of a hakka restaurant.

Can in as recommend by my friend. I was greeted very kindly by the staff. They helped me navigate the menu. There are particular flavor profiles for each dish. I like it a bit more spicy and they were very accommodating. They have lunch specials, which is what I should have ordered. Went with the hakka Shanghai noodles and the crispy ginger beef. Added szechuan chili oil to both and it was delicious. I think they are used to people asking for more spice within the ethnic community. Take out only for now. Will come back. Very tasty!

First time here for take out . Ordered vegetarian chow mein noodles and gravy veggie manchurian balls. Quantity was not that big if I compare to many other hakka places . But taste wise it was amazing but a little oily . Food tasted good and stayed hot even after 40 mins of drive home. Very convenient to highway exit

Order anything on the menu, and you won’t be disappointed!! Amazing food and staff. We love chicken pakora, you don’t find it anywhere. They have great combos for 2 and 4. Portions are excellent, and it’s perfect value for your money.

My friend introduced me once to “Taste of Hakka” and I didn’t know that from that day, this restaurant will be my number one favorite in all Toronto. I have no words to describe how much I love their food. Chinese and Indian are too different cuisines but the common between those two is that they include so many spices, sauces, ingredients and flavor in their dishes which makes the food taste incredibly good. But, what’s better than a crazy mix of those two!!! Taste of Hakka has a very good size menu that include all sorts of different dishes from Noodles to rice to all sorts of meat. Honestly, I tried so many different dishes from their menu and they all blew my mind especially the crispy ginger beef, breaded chili chicken (Spicy), Special fried rice with chicken and shrimp served with Bombay sauce (Spicy) and the vegetable hakka chow mein. Be sure that their portions are massive and they are pretty good for sharing. In addition to all that, they have the fastest and the best service I’ve ever seen because the food is served exactly two minutes after ordering and their servers are so friendly and always smiling especially “Aman” who makes us laugh all the time. I Highly Highly Recommend this place!!!
