Taste of Colombo offers halal Sri Lankan cuisine. We were excited to try their isso vadai (shrimp vadai) and mutton rolls but unfortunately, they were sold out. We ordered their beef and chicken kothu roti. We recommend getting extra gravy for their kothu to add more flavor and spice. We've also purchased their lamprise (rice in banana leaf with other veggies) - this didn't have all the veggies/sambals mentioned (not pictured in this post). I think they have a lot of room for improvement, wouldn't really recommend this place, sorry. There's free parking in the parking lot, but it's pretty tight and gets full quickly.

The food was delicious. The spiciness and flavor of kottu were excellent.

Food was not bad, lots of flavoring. Only 5 seatings inside. Chicken roll and samosas were decent. Dophin kottu flavoring and spicyness was really good. Mandatory 15% service charge included in the receip.

The food was okay, but I didn’t like the chicken dolphin kothu and veg cheese kothu is better than chicken dolphin kothu.

Easily the best Sri Lankan I've ever had! Service was out of this world. And the Suruttappam was mind blowing. My veggie Kottu was awesome. Great booths as well. You can tell the food is made with love and I can't wait to come back.

The best Colombo style fish cutlet, string hopper kottu, and cheese kottu in Canada. The rice and curry, and fried rice were very good, too. Lavariyas were mouth watering. They were good sized, soft and really yummy. Great, efficient, friendly service. Nuha was an attentive server. They served us items from the dinner menu at 2pm. Clean restaurant area. Good washroom facility.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Sri Lankan restaurant in Scarborough, ON, and I must say it was a delightful experience. As a first-timer, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the cuisine, but the warm and welcoming owner immediately put us at ease. She was not only kind but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making our visit truly memorable. The owner took the time to patiently answer all our questions, which was a lifesaver since most of us were unfamiliar with Sri Lankan food. She was considerate of any dietary restrictions we had and took great care to gauge our spice tolerance levels. It was clear she wanted us to have the best possible experience, and she suggested some fantastic recommendations from the menu when she saw us overwhelmed by the unfamiliar dish names. We decided to try a variety of dishes to get a taste of Sri Lankan cuisine. The Chicken Fried Rice Sri Lankan style was a real treat, bursting with flavor and a perfect blend of spices. The Chicken Kottu was a unique and flavorful dish, and the Kidu was a delightful surprise with its fresh and vibrant flavors. The parathas were a great accompaniment, providing the perfect balance to the other dishes. For dessert, we indulged in the lavariya, which was a sweet ending to our meal that left us craving for more. To complement the meal, the restaurant also served local Sri Lankan beverages. The Orange Barley drink was an instant hit, followed by the necto and ginger drink, which added an extra layer of authenticity to our dining experience. We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and to our delight, the place was not crowded at all. The quick service was a pleasant surprise, ensuring that we didn't have to wait long to savor the delicious food. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Sri Lankan cuisine in Scarborough, this place is a must-visit.
