Went here for dinner AYCE which was $45.99 per person. They only take cash or debit. Service was fine. They were fairly attentive with coming by our table to take our order and for bringing food over. We didn’t really wait for anything too long. They are pretty strict about the two hour seating as well, so they will tell you it’s “last call” for food once it gets close to that time. For the first 45 min or so of us being there we did notice that they played the same song on loop which was a bit annoying and odd. It was a piano instrumental cover of a Christmas song. We went on Boxing Day. The quality of the food is decent. Their desserts are limited to one of each kind per person. The crème brûlée in particular is pretty bad - it tasted like eating scrambled eggs and was barely torched on top.

I've had dinner here 3 times and every time it's been great. I really like the decoration of the restaurant as well as the space. It's just that the restaurant area is a bit small and on the second floor is another pub, so the ceiling space is a bit low as well as the hallway space for staff to serve other things. A bit small, but in return the dining table gives guests a very comfortable dining area. The service staff is extremely friendly every time I come, they are very careful and attentive, asking us if we want to order more or keep following up to check if the food is to our liking, if the grill needs to be replaced or not. If you want to order something in a very polite and gentle manner. Not only that, the staff always enthusiastically introduced to us the promotion of the restaurant that day as well as explained the special dishes for each different taste. The last thing that is most amazing is that the meat is very fresh and tender, marinated with just the right amount of seasoning, not too salty or too bland so that customers can add more sauce on the outside if needed. An amazing experience that some famous BBQ restaurants do not have such good customer service. I really appreciate this.

Sleek, easy spot for Japanese Grill if you are looking for something other than Gyubee. Their menu are not too diverse but their great food makes up for it. Servers were nice even though we were being difficult, and food was being served really promptly. Thank you TAISHO

Great place for a small group but more for the younger crowd. Seating was too tight. The hand rolls were amazing. Some exact dishes from other places I have been to which I found to be ok in comparison. The chicken wings were good. The meats could have been better seasoned though. They had a sushi spring roll that was great too. Over all good variety and dishes were of good quality. I did find it a bit more pricier than most places I have been to. Good place for special events. Service was on a timely manner. However, very limited parking which is common when you’re downtown. Definitely make reservations.

First time coming here and it was a 10/10. The sushi hand rolls were fresh and very tasty. The meat and options were of great quality. I will most definitely come again. The aesthetics and service was also amazing. Overall if you like Japanese BBQ definitely come here and check it out. One thing I do want to mention was that for a party of 5 we only had 1 grill which was not ideal. Also the shrimp was interesting, i wouldn't order it again as it was our least favorite.

We were here on a Saturday night as there was a long waitlist for Gyubee and Gyukaku. We were tired of waiting and decided to give Taisho a try, and we loved it. The atmosphere, service, and the food were all top-notch. The meat were very good quality, and even the side dishes were really good - the torched salmon handroll and salmon donburi were sushi restaurant quality. I also loved that they had lettuce, kimchi, ssamjang, and jalapenos as it also satisfies the Kbbq vibe. The desserts were superb as well. We had the creme brule which was not too sweet which we liked, and the almond chocolate Hagendaz ice cream bar. The price was also very reasonable as I also had a pint of beer. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Happy with the food and service. Very busy place on a Thursday evening. Out server was super busy but never missed looking after us. Very prompt service. Food is good for the price. They’ve got more hot food items than Shinta and generally tastes pretty well. For those considering authenticity, this is not it. But really, come on… Altogether for 2 $116. Cash or debit only.
