Swiss Chalet

Extremely dissapointed with my take-out experience. I stood near the cash area on the Harvey’s side to have my order taken. I waited almost 10 minutes until one of the girls took my order. They didn’t even acknowledge me before taking my order. I was just left to wait in silence. A simple “Hi, I’ll be right with you” or “Welcome to Harvey’s serving Swiss, I’ll be with you in a moment!” would’ve been nice instead of being treated like I was invisible. Since I was buying food for my friend and I, I placed a decent sized order. For appetizers, I ordered the cheesy pierogies with Cajun sour cream & the chicken spring rolls. For the main, I ordered the chicken parm bundle for us to split. I was asked “soup or salad”. I was then asked soup or “salad again”. I was not given the option of fries or pasta. So, I ordered Caesar salad with bacon and a cup of soup. But then when I asked “does the chicken parm come with the pasta as advertised” the girl didn’t know what to say and needed to ask a manager. I was informed that the pasta or fries was one of the side options. So, i re-iterated “okay, i will take the soup and the pasta instead” but, the price went up. The girl didn’t know what to do (which, is simple. I used to work at a harveys serving Swiss, so I could’ve literally shown her what to press. I offered too as well, but she seemed too stressed out. She was looking over her shoulder for the manager or higher up I guess) so, she called the manager, but I was in a hurry to pick up my friend. So I said “it’s fine, just leave the salad on”. I ordered at about 6:15PM (Sunday Night). I did not receive my food until almost 6:40. I had to also ask for my pop, which I ordered, they almost didn’t give it to me. By the time I went to go pick up my friend (only 15 minutes away from your location) the food was cold. The chicken parm’s cheese wasn’t melty, the pasta was bland, the Caesar salad had barely any bacon, the soup was mainly broth, the Cajun sour cream cup was squishy (as if the sour cream had been prepped and it seeped into the side, mushing it up kind of like a paper straw in a cup with liquid) and the cheesy bread (which was an up charge) was not cheesy. I will not be coming back to this location.

I placed a group order, ordering online was great as each individual person was able to place their own order. There were a few bumps in ordering but Shanique from the Rutherford location was amazing in assisting us. she communicated during the process and made sure we received everything. We received the group order and items were missing. She promptly fixed that and within no time the items showed up. I will be ordering through Swiss Chalet in the future. Shanique left a HUGE impression on me. Her service and compassion didn't go unnoticed.

I usually visit once every year or two to get a taste of nostalgia. Their dipping sauce and chicken brings back memories.

Beautiful restaurant. Haven’t been to a Swiss chalet restaurant in a long while. Came here with my dad for lunch since he loves Swiss chalet. The restaurant is very nice decorated for Christmas and our waitress provided excellent service. The food was very fresh and delicious.

This review reflects the customer service side of Swiss chalet. On Dec 1st, I had called to order a half chicken dinner and a quarter chicken with half ribs for pickup. When I went home, I noticed that the quarter chicken was missing. (My fault for not checking) I received a missed call from the store but was already home. We called the store and they said they couldn’t deliver it because they didn’t have any delivery drivers available. We called customer service and they said they would add a $15 dollar credit to my account for the next time we order. I called today for delivery and asked if I could use my credit towards this order. The agent said she couldn’t find a credit on my account or any notes about that incident. I went on a rollercoaster of back and forth trying to figure out what happened. Obviously there was a mistake on the agent’s side and they didn’t add the credit or make a note. The manager at this store was the ONLY one who has real customer service. She should be the one in customer service. I’m still waiting to be reconciled about this. I will be awaiting your response Swiss chalet.

terrible experience, me and 3 others went at 3pm on a Tuesday expecting it to not be busy and have a nice peaceful dinner. the waitress decided to seat us (in an almost empty dining room) right beside an obnoxiously loud family with two young children. directed in-front of us was a dirty table where someone had ate prior, it wasn’t cleaned for the first 15-20 minutes we had been there which is an eye sore to look at. following this the waitress gave us 7 menus (all dinner menu’s) for 4 of us. it took 20 minutes after ordering drinks to get them (2 soda’s and 2 glasses of wine). i ordered a chicken wrap with poutine as the side, i received regular fries and a chicken wrap. during dinner we noticed how many flys and mosquitoes were flying around our table, at times landing on us and on our food. while in the middle of our meal the host brought us warm water with lemon to rinse our hands. of course the bowl with the warm water had two dead flies in it, which i now had to look at while finishing my meal. only god knows what was in the food we were served or the cleanliness of the kitchen. mind you the restaurant was basically empty so the fact that they got my meal wrong and gave me a dirty bowl with water is pretty astonishing. it was an absolutely terrible experience i won’t be returning anytime soon.

The interior at this location is newer here compared to other locations. It was fairly busy when we went. We had ordered the quarter chicken with garden salad and steamed vegetables. All of the portions are smaller now and their famous chalet sauce comes in a much smaller bowl. The food and service was great though! Overall a very good night!
