The server Lisa is so patient with perfect recommendations of dishes. The half rib is so good and maybe next time I’ll try the BBQ one.

We found this for a place to eat while our child was at Toronto sick kids. It’s very close and walking distance. Simple and easy to get to. As far as what I’m used to, this is not the must up to date and nice looking Swiss chalet out there. The big windows do offer light which is nice.

Had a good experience in this location, it was just a bit tricky to find the entrance door. People were very attentive, and nice and quickly served the food, I was looking forward to trying their seafood with ribs, but as they said; they stopped serving it last month. Overall the service and the food were terrific.

Directions; what a walk to get there. Difficult to find reason is hidden gem. In area called Hospital Row on University Ave. Downtown is down below street level. Signage not visible, passed right by on other side of the street. Finally when we got there we had to wait to be sitted. Once in had a nice shared dish ordered the two leg dinner. Save yourself & other a meal get one for the two of you. Plus drinks can get costly so this is one way to save. Why not! See this way you can dine out. Not overeat. Have more room for dessert or drinks.

I’ve been pleased to see more and more vegetarian options at Swiss Chalet: the veggie burger plus a few sides and appetizers first, then a vegetable stir fry, and now a veg pot pie. The choice of vegetables may be a bit unimaginative, but the portion was large, the sauce rich but not heavy, and the puff pastry crust was lovely. My side of fries were the standard Swiss Chalet style, which people seem to either love or hate (I’m in the first category), and came hot and fresh. Our server was friendly but I did feel a bit rushed despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The decor is standard Swiss Chalet, but I’m bumping them up to a five because I liked their holiday decorations.

I have been a regular here and the taste is always very consistent. I love the chicken spring rolls here as they are crunchy, not so oily and filled with white meat. The service is fast and the servers are very professional and friendly. I liked how they kept on checking in with the customers if they need anything or not. I usually get the rotisserie chicken with fries. However, on my last visit, I tried the rotisserie chicken with the rice and veggies and to be honest it was not that great. I felt the soggy rice did not go pretty well with the dish. The chicken wings with chalet cut fries were amazing though.

Whatever happened to that Swiss Chalet business model? Does it need to be updated because the meal I had here was delicious in a nice clean environment served by people who were actually happy. On a Saturday. I ordered the basic quarter chicken dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the juiciness and tenderness of the rotisserie chicken. Plus I love the fact that the chicken wasn't big and fat and plump like a sodium induced poultry farm "product". The chicken size and taste was that of a real chicken. Perhaps marketing should focus more on the quality of their product. Another suggestion is maybe just to cut down on the salt just a little bit. But with a nice cold beer it does go down very well.
