Sushi-Ya Japan

They do NOT serve sushi like this anymore in Toronto! So fresh, tasty and arguably good value. We stumbled upon this restaurant because we were dropping someone off at the airport and wanted to grab a bite afterwards. I am so glad we did! We really only picked it because it had the best Google reviews, but I understand why it does. I ordered the spicy salmon salad ($14), which has a flavour reminiscent of a Korean squid salad I had recently. It was very tasty and the salmon sashimi on top was SO delicious. My boyfriend got the Dinner Set A ($32), which was so much food! There was a soup, salad, sashimi set, and teriyaki salmon. A bit much for one person, not enough for two, but great value regardless. The sashimi was extremely fresh.

Great little sushi spot not far from the airport. Sushi was fresh and well presented. Rolls and nigiri had the perfect amount of rice. Spicy tuna roll was very flavorful and had a nice heat to it. Nice traditional Japanese style decor creates a nice atmosphere and staff were very attentive and polite. Lunch specials are a great value. Would definitely eat here again.

If I recall this is the second time I ate at this establishment. I was able to get a seat quickly during Anime North making it very convenient. The waitress provided excellent service and answered all of my questions. The food (nabe udon) was decent enough but I wasn't blown away. The variety of seafood (mussels, shrimp, squid I believe) is superb. The ambiance and decor is homely and aesthetically pleasing if a bit 🖤DaRk🖤. All in all, if you need a place to eat Asian food (Japanese) quickly for good value I highly recommend this restaurant!

My wife discovered Sushi-Ya as she frequents the nearby Delta for work. This was my third time here and, as usual, the food, service, and atmosphere were truly excellent! This hidden gem appears quite unassuming, but they have created a quaint and comfortable dining experience. We shared a couple of apps, as well as sharing a dinner with a variety of options. Everything was really tasty and prepared perfectly. Sushi-Ya most certainly ranks highly for us as one of the best sushi restaurants we have tried.
