The exact same experience as the Markham location for $98 except the appetizer that I guess changes occasionally. Umi is one of the most “worth” omakase experiences that are currently doing the $98. They give you 2 instances of shrimp and 1.5 uni (0.5 uni on one of the shrimps), which is good because some places don’t do uni at all as part of the course. Didn’t feel rushed at all and service was excellent. Wished the dessert was a little more interesting since it’s still a coconut panna cotta with matcha. The matcha was pretty grainy like it wasn’t whisked enough. I did ask the chef to put more wasabi in my courses but I didn’t really feel a difference after he did it for like one of them. Not a huge deal I suppose. Good price but it definitely doesn’t wow you. I’ll be eagerly waiting for Umi to come back with the $168 experience since that one was much much better.

Pretty fancy sushi place to replace the lackluster sushi restaurant that was there before. They're trying something special here, that's for sure.

Phenomenal Omakase. I have been to a lot of omakases in the city and this one is definitely up there. More casual and approachable than some of the incredibly expensive options that exist but still top quality food, service and ambience. Lots of creative dishes mixed in with some classics, and the tableware/ceramics were gorgeous. I opted for the additional Wagyu and highly recommend that. Melt in your mouth.
