Great food. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. There's live entertainment on the weekend I've heard so will definitely revisit.

SugarKane in Toronto is a Caribbean and Cajun fusion restaurant offering a lively and laid-back vibe with vibrant décor that showcases Antillean and West Indian culture. Located on Danforth Avenue, the restaurant is known for its creative menu that mixes traditional island flavors with Southern influences. Signature dishes include jerk chicken fettuccine, blackened salmon, salt fish cakes, and Creole jambalaya, all of which balance spicy and savory flavors well. They also serve unique tropical cocktails like the “Wray & Ting,” made with grapefruit soda and Wray & Nephew rum, and sorrel-infused mojitos for an island twist. The dining experience is enhanced with a mix of reggae, soca, and live DJ sessions on weekends, adding to the festive ambiance. While the service is friendly, it can be slower during peak hours. SugarKane is especially popular among those looking for an authentic yet innovative Caribbean-Cajun fusion experience in Toronto.

First time eating here and it was great. Forgot to snap a picture of my meal but the burger was delicious. I find the prices to be very economical for the quality of the food being served. I had the pleasure of being served by Thusani. He definitely made the experience worthwhile. Clean bathrooms.

SugarKane is a hidden gem around Bloor and Pape, I’ve come here for both brunch and dinner and both times the food was superb. Amazing flavours and super friendly staff makes for a great dining experience. The happy hour specials are not to be missed, with the surf and turf tacos being a big highlight. The restaurant gets packed so reservations are recommended.

Excellent food! We ordered the blackened salmon and the oxtail, it was hands down absolutely delicious, especially the salmon! Loved the vibe of the live DJ and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Only comment is, I wish we were checked in with a bit more (i.e how is the food, do you need anything etc.). Outside of that great spot on the Danforth!

We came in on a Sunday morning intending to try the main menu and were pleasantly surprised to see a brunch menu and decided to give it a try! First off, the vibes in this place are absolutely immaculate. On a nice summer day, the windows at the front of the restaurant open up to make a makeshift patio and between the nice breeze and the great music, it really makes you feel like you're at an all inclusive or something. The food was really good, though if im being honest a bit on the pricey side for what you get. We got the saltfish cakes, the breakfast sando, and the spicy oxtail grilled cheese. The food tasted delicious, but value for money wise it's a bit overpriced for what you're getting. Definitely recommend the sando over the oxtail grilled cheese. Would definitely like to come back and try the restaurant's regular menu sometime.

We were a group of 7 (3 kids). First thing, the manager or person in charge looked pissed the entire night. She wasn’t approachable what’s so ever. Everyone working just looked cranky. I don’t like when I go into a restaurant and not greeted with a little politeness; “hi, how are you”-nothing Anyway, no one owes me nothing, so it’s all good. The waitress asked how I wanted the bill split, told her in two and pointed out who should be on what bill, she ended up giving us 3 bills. Super annoying, at this point whatever. You clearly don’t care. Another thing was, they added the gratuity, but didn’t say anything to let us know it would be added to the bill. We were not a big group. Furthermore, let us know prior-the service was lacking. The food was an experience for sure, being from Jamaica, my expectations may be too high but I could tell they are catering to a diverse demographic, for sure. I ordered the oxtail bowl, it could have had a little more flavour but I didn’t not enjoy it. The meat was tender, the rice was flavourful. My daughter’s chicken strips were a little over cooked. My friend ordered the jerk bowl and he didn’t enjoy it. The other orders weren’t too bad if I’m being honest. The plantain was a bit dry as well. I will say the drinks were great, they definitely had a generous hand with the liquor. I tried the sorrel mojito, the rum punch was great I heard and the guava mocktail. But overall we were not disappointed, I’ve definitely had worse. I was with great people so the vibe was nice, I honestly would go back because my friend told me to try the spinach dip. What makes me hesitant is the service. But I say give it a shot for sure.

Food is absolutely amazing, service is great just slow and could bring water more frequent, considering the spice in some of the eats may be un suspecting to certain customers. Overall amazing experience, the food is unmatched… nice change from the downtown core. Beautiful restaurant - great for a more upscale plate with a more lounge environment. Well done
