Stuttering John's Smokehouse

Attended Stuttering John's Smokehouse for a brisket cooking class. 5 Stars for sure. John was a great instructor and simplified everything. We would definitely do another class. The food was fantastic and we look forward to going back for some sandwiches and definitely going to pre-order a full AAA brisket to try out what I learned on my smoker! Great job John!!

I’ve been to stuttering John’s multiple times sometimes for food and sides and other times just to gut stuff for my own bbq! John has been nothing but super helpful even when I ask for advice on how to cook something! He’s the best would recommend him to any of my friends

Absolutely delicious sandwiches! My favourite is definitely the Smoked Chicken Club with no Tomato and Extra Bacon! Solid portion of smoked chicken, thick cut smoked bacon, coleslaw and their super tasty Alabama White Sauce 🤤 Their other sandwiches are really good too and so are their sides! They sell a bunch of their BBQ sauces, rubs and anything else you’d need for your own cooking at home. Also very friendly staff and a convenient location just off the highway! Just gotta make sure you’re there between 11-2pm and hope they have enough protein left! 🤞🏼

Great BBQ. Tried Stuttering John’s as I was passing through town. Amazing Brisket sandwich, beans were great and cornbread was moist and flavourful. I’ll be here again next time I’m in Bowmanville.

I went with a friend who also adores BBQ we were both delighted! Brisket, ribs, bacon, Mac & Cheese and corn bread. All fantastic. Service friendly and engaged. Will be back! Ate too fast to get most pics but ordered a 3rd corn bread for breakfast.

Stopped in before Christmas to get stocking stuffers. Johnathon recommended a number of new rubs and a couple of old favorites. Big hit with our sons. Also picked up a vacuum sealed pack of sliced brisket, which we heated as per instructions and made brisket on a bun w/coleslaw and bbq sauce. So good! Highly recommend visiting Stuttering John's for all things BBQ.

I hired Stuttering John's to cater my wedding and they did NOT disappoint. The food was amazing and their customer service was spot on. Georgia and John are willing to work with you to customize the perfect menu for your event. Our guests are still talking about the food 2 months after our wedding! I highly recommend Stuttering John's for your next catered event!

They Accept Cash/ debit & Credit I just had lunch at this little Gem and let me tell you the Beef brisket was Perfect, Appearance, Aroma, Tenderness/Texture, Taste, and Overall Impression, When someone asked what qualifies as Excellent, "You will find out what is excellent when you taste this brisket. I also tried the Mac and cheese as a dairy free person I sacrificed myself and can allege it was worth every bite. I will definitely be back again. My other dining party had 1 bite of mine & was satisfied rated it at a 9, their plate was pulled pork and coleslaw the pulled pork rate a 5/6, coleslaw was ok. Some feedback The bun was a bit too firm Parking is selective Their Sandwich Sign on the road is a bit small. Maybe have smaller portions for kids.
