Spice Lounge and Tapas

Quick story - originally went here on a speed date in Jan of 2009. Met my future wife that night and got married Dec 2010. Returned tonight to celebrate my 14th wedding anniversary. The service was incredible and the waiter (Chester) even opened up the upstairs room (where the speed date was hosted in 2009) so we could revisit where our story began. Really appreciated this level of service as this was certainly well above and beyond what we could have asked for. Food was great and very well presented and priced. What an amazing night. Thank you Chester and Spice lounge for making our anniversary such a special event.

We had my husband’s 50th birthday in the upstairs private lounge. Ryan went above and beyond to help me organize the greatest party! From the menu, to the drinks, everything was taken care of. The atmosphere is perfect for a private event, there is even a seperate entrance so that you don’t need to go through the restaurant. This is the 3rd party we’ve been to at Spice lounge and they’ve all been amazing events. Kudos to Ryan and his team!!

The place has a cute patio with flowers which attracted us to. But the food was below average. For the price they charge. Literally everything we ordered was bad. From the tap water that tasted pure chlorine, to the fish and chips that was oily and close to no actual fish, I ordered the poke Witt close to no tuna and random vegetables. The girl who served us was nice, poor lady, feel bad for her. I wouldn’t want yo work on a place that serves this bad of food and beverage.

I tried this restaurant on Sunday evening for dinner with my family. We had a reservation, but when we arrived it was almost empty. The service and the food were average. Nothing extraordinary. It was good for an occasional dinner. I found the menu a little bit limited and priced. For the paid amount there are better options to choose from with better quality.

Always a clean, warm and friendly atmosphere. Weekend evenings they have amazing, talented musicians that sing and play guitar beautifully. Spice is a great place to relax and enjoy live entertainment with space to get up and dance. I especially loved the pitted Kalamata olives at the end of the night. The professional staff members here help make the night even more fun and enjoyable. Overall Spice is a great place.

Very nice ambience - good decor, good music at the right volume. It isn't a big place so has a very cozy vibe but it definitely looks like it would be a lively bar on busier weekends. We went on a Saturday sandwiched between Easter days so there weren't a lot of other people - probably about a third full during our visit. One weird thing - the ceiling in the middle of the room is a recessed dome. I found it was reflecting the voices of another table on the other side of the room so I could hear them clearly as if they were standing right over my head. Service was wonderful, friendly, and prompt as well. Overall food was good - very hearty and comfy. Some hits and some misses. Patatas Bravas: Excellent with lots of seasoning and flavour. Could use a little less Bravas sauce. Definitely get this. Grilled Calamari: Can be skipped. Rubbery and not a not of flavour. Fig & Brie flatbread: Delicious. Inhaled this dish. Everything was good about this. Blackened Ahi Tuna: It was alright. Can't pinpoint what was missing. Maybe needed a bit more of a spicy kick. Cameron Al Ajillo: Delicious. Came with amazing wood-fired bread that really elevated it. Enjoyed our visit here and would definitely come back.

Big 50! I hosted a Birthday Party at the venue upstairs. It was perfect for my group of 40. Ryan was incredible accommodating all the requests and making sure everything is perfect. Chester and Cass were amazing bartenders! The food was so good. I would definitely recommend Spice Lounge for your next event. THANKS again ! CHEERS!

We had a great meal here the other evening and Andy, our server, was fantastic. The food was delicious and the drinks were lovely - we especially loved the calamari and mushroom croquettes. I would definitely recommend a visit here and a seat on the patio as it's great for people watching.
