Soulas Modern Greek Cuisine

We started with the Saganaki, which is a Greek classic, and Soulas nailed it! The cheese was perfectly crisped on the outside, yet wonderfully gooey and rich on the inside. Barbecued Calamari was very good, but if you’re looking for more crunchy one, go for Breaded Calamari. Next, we tried the Santorini Chicken, a dish that truly transports you to the Greek islands. The chicken has been stuffed with herbs and vegetables and comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables. And, of course, the New Year’s decorations really added to the overall experience. The owner spent one week to make this beautiful setting.

I had the mousakas, and I was a little disappointed , the egg plant and ground meat was really over cooked before layering, I had to pay an extra $4 for the crumbled .$30 mousakas w greek salad

This is a terrific discovery for modern Greek food. Soulas has an amazing menu with several options under each category. The portions are generous. We enjoyed the calamari and lamb souvlaki. The flavours were rich and authentic. The lemon potatoes were simply delicious. Service was attentive. We will definitely return!

The server was amazing in being always available and around whenever we needed anything. The service was also quick. The food was good but not memorable, just lacking that taste that gets you hooked.

Very busy and vibrant restaurant. Service was good but the food was not good. Our server told us they are known for lamb, so that’s what we ordered Lamb chops had very little meat and were quite fatty. Lamb shank was dry and not fresh. It came with a very tomatoey sauce on orzo and did not resemble typical Greek food. The hummus had a horrible sour taste with odd spices like cumin. The dessert was the best thing we ordered but even that had a weird combination of chocolate and cinnamon. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

The atmosphere is probably one of the best. The decor and live music make it a unique place to visit. The staff were awesome, probably some of the best in Toronto. The dips were really good, very authentic. The main courses were good but could have been better, my lamb Exohiko was a little mushy but still tasted great. I tried a piece of the Santorini Chicken and it was incredible, I think I should have gotten that instead. One person at our table raved about the calamari. Definitely a place to go back to for the great service, atmosphere and music.

We went here a month ago and enjoyed our experience. First, we had their Greek red wine, which was delightful. Then, I ordered the vegetable Moussaka, and it was one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had in Toronto. The servers were nice, and their patio is lovely. We can’t wait to visit again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a hidden gem Soulas. This Greek restaurant stands out from the others on Danforth with its exceptional food, inviting ambiance, and unique approach to modern Greek cuisine. The menu at Soulas is a delightful departure from the typical Greek fare found in the neighborhood. They have your favorite classic dishes like moussaka and souvlaki, but the chef here takes a creative approach to traditional recipes, resulting in dishes that are both familiar and excitingly new. One standout dish that I highly recommend is their grilled octopus, perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to provide recommendations, and the service is efficient yet unhurried, allowing you to savor each bite and truly enjoy your dining experience. Soulas is sure to impress.
