Sosta! Pizzeria

I know this review probably won’t go anywhere because past reviews haven’t been addressed (see pic). As I type this I’m watching one waitress fold and stamp pizza boxes while we wait to get another drink and dessert (going on 20 minutes now) and 3 other waiters/waitresses kind of aimlessly walk around. Luckily our flight isn’t until tomorrow … thank god because we’d miss it. At most, betting on ‘time to serve’ kept us entertained for the night. As for the food. It was quite good, although the pancetta on my pizza seemed raw, unless pancetta is 100% fat. But the pizza itself was very good and wood fired - extra extra thin crust. PS. We watched our cake on the counter as the staff have doubled down on the pizza boxes. This is a two man job. PSS. Waiting for the cheque seems to be a test of endurance I haven’t prepped for.

We were very impressed with the meal we had here. Tomato soup was very nice, Kale salad was excellent (and I don’t even like kale) and the Bay of Funghi pizza was one of the best we had ever had. The peppered sour cream sauce was delicious. Atmosphere was a bit sparse, but comfortable and quiet nonetheless. A nice thing to do before we head out in a trip.

The flavours of the pizza were great. Very perplexed that the bottom of the pizza was ultra thin. The crust had lots of flavour and was what you would find at a traditional pizza restaurant. The bottom of the pizza was too thin to keep the pizza together and turned into a mess. The atmosphere is cool but you are in the lobby of a hotel.

Fantastic restaurant! Conveniently located in the lobby of The Alt Hotel at Toronto Airport. Open late for late arrivals. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Food was brought to us quickly and was delicious! A bit pricey, but otherwise excellent meal and service. Would definitely recommend.

Convenient & comfortable place to meet friends coming in or going out at Pearson. Had quite an innovative menu with thoughtful variations on some classic Italian fare. Freshly made pizza in their own pizza oven was a very good size as well as the meatball app. The description of the cauliflower app was irresistible, and although the portion size was impressive, presenting a half a head of cauliflower, charred black on the top and plunked into a mound of hummus (although tasty) left me feeling like a step had been missed. Atmosphere was fun and funky for a hotel restaurant with miss matched furniture, lighting and comfortable.

$29+tax for this very sad charcuterie board. Total rip-off, the picture doesn’t fully capture how bad and skimpy it really was. Don’t get the mac and cheese either it’s basically pasta and béchamel with little to no cheese. Their pizzas are good, expensive for the size, but still worth it compared to other things connected to the airport.

Foods we ordered were amazing but maybe a little bit of salt in the penne baked pasta would be perfect. I highly recommend their meatballs al forno (appetizer) it was superb and only needs a pasta noodles to be your main course, the serving for this appetizer can be shared by 2 person. The tomato sauce was rich and fresh, a little bit addictive 😅 ... I only hope that next time they serve the appetizer first before the mains (not at the same time) so that the mains will not sit on the table for too long and gets cold.

Food was amazing! For appetizers we had Tomato soup and meatballs with Tomato sauce. Those two were the best ones we've ever had! It was so good. Maybe I'll come back just to eat that again! For our mains we had Penne pasta and pizza with ricotta. Loved the pizza but the penne could use more flavor or sauce. The restaurant ambience was perfect. The service was good. We had a female server attend to us who was pleasant prompt with our orders. will come back here for sure!
