Sophia Turkish Restaurant

Located near the corner of Eglinton West and Avenue Road, Sophia Turkish Restaurant has brought Eastern Mediterranean flair to the neighbourhood. Classy and cozy, Sophia Turkish Restaurant proved to be the perfect place for a midday meal. Starting with the salad, hummus and sucuk (Turkish beef sausage - pronounced “soo-juk”), my appetite then opened up to the Liver Shish Wrap. The hummus - freshly made, fluffy and light - combined extremely well with the dry, savoury, spiced sucuk sausage. Sublime. Superb. The Liver Shish Wrap presented a full plate of grilled liver cubes on lavash flatbread with grilled tomato, peppers and risotto. The liver cubes were glistening with taste, masterfully grilled and tender. The risotto was perfectly al dente. The Restaurant Manager, Alp, came on over and offered insights into travel to Türkiye, one of the world’s great crossroads of culture and history. Executive Chef, Sal, also popped out and discussed the joys of driving (and surviving) mountain roads around the Mediterranean. All in all, this made for a warm, friendly, and most enjoyable lunchtime experience - one that I heartily recommend and hope to share with others in the future.

Turkish cuisine has been slowly becoming one of my favourite types of foods. Sophia restaurant has added to this. I went with a big group and had opportunity to try different Turkish foods. I ordered the lentil soup and Ali Nazik and it was the right choice! Everything was quite reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Definitely would recommend to those curious about Turkish food or who are a lover of Turkish food

Visted 21/11/2024 I had passed by this place while working nearby and decided to try it out. Simply put, it was a great idea! The food was absolutely amazing! We had atom, Adana kebab, and kunefe. Our host, Onour (I hope I got his name right), was so friendly and informative. I think he made the experience better. And the place is so nice and cozy! We'll definitely be back to have more yummy food!

Was looking for a new place for an early lunch and found this lovely place just on Eglinton. Was floored by the service and the food too! Everything we ordered was great and will definitely be back to try the rest of the amazing stuff we saw on the menu and from the orders of other tables 😉 Special mention to our server Onur for taking such great care of us! 🙌

Delicious Turkish Cuisine! Had a fantastic experience here! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were very friendly. The food was incredibly flavorful – the meat was juicy and tender, and the salads were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Turkish food!

This restaurant is a must visit if you have not tried Turkish food. We enjoyed our first dining experience at this new restaurant. The atmosphere is very cosy and relaxing. Service was amazing, attentive, and we appreciate the insights about Turkish cuisines from the owner. We ordered Liver, chicken, and spicy beef kebabs with some side dishes. Everything was delicious and we'll definitely come back.

Excellent service from front of house staff Alp and Ersal the chef is a wonder to talk to. Food was very authentic and reminded me of traditional Turkish food I've tasted in my travels. Would recommend anything from the kebab section as it truly captures Ersal's specialty, especially since he grills everything using fresh charcoal to order! I had the beef kebab this time but it's the Adina (ground lamb) that's their absolute specialty you have to come back to try. For those uninitiated, try the Turkish tea while having your meal, it's complementary, caffeine-free, and a great compliment to a great meal!

An amazing experience! We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and each one was incredibly delicious. I especially recommend the Adana Kebap, it was outstanding! The service was impeccable, and the owners were very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, perfect for a nice meal. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality you get. The restaurant was also very clean and well-maintained. They let me see the kitchen and how the grill works! It was an amazing experience. I’ll definitely be coming back! If you're looking for a great dining experience in Toronto, this place is a must-try! My favorite Turkish Restaurant in Toronto!!
