The food was disappointing for the price, the service wasn't that great. It was rowdy and I couldn't hear the server at all. Me and a friend did the tasting menu. Let me explain the food: - The chicken tacos were not balanced well and could have used more of a pop of flavour. - The grilled pork chops were overcooked and felt a little dry. - The salad was too bitter, the chunks of radicchio was too much and there were only two small slices of pear to compensate. Maybe this is just my personal tastes. - The rice noodles were really salty and overcooked, and we couldn't bring ourselves to eat more than half of it. And let's also talk about the service: - We tried to flag down our server multiple times but we were ignored. - As soon as we lifted our food off the sharing plate the server came around and took away the plate, placing the red pepper sauce and curry bowl onto the table without asking or explaining. We were like ??? because we just started eating the dish. - You can see the red pepper sauce in the background of the curry picture, that wasn't taken away until 2 dishes later when the guy bringing the plates asked if we were still using it. Thanks dude. - The plates came in fast, we were still eating the previous dish when the next one would come in. Now I'm not expecting mind blowing food or high end service at $60, but I want the food to at least be cooked right. My friend who has been to Malaysia was really disappointed.

We've been coming here for over a decade! This family-run restaurant remains in my top 5 places to eat in Toronto. It never disappoints. The tasting Feed Me menu remains one of the best deals in town, at $60 for an incredible array of Malaysian food. Fantastic wines and cocktails, plus non-alcoholic options, round out the experience. Service is always top notch. Highly recommend!

We had the best time at Soos. We tried their tasting menu and loved every single dish. The dishes each came out at a steady pace and the servers were super attentive. The prosperity slaw and rice cakes were the star of the show - so delicious, and rich in flavour. Cannot wait to visit again soon!

Soos is outstanding! The chicken tacos and octopus salad were my favourite dishes of the night. The chicken tastes like a satay and the taco shell had a lovely texture that was a bit crispy but didn’t fall apart. We also had the cod and prosperity slaw which were also excellent - so fresh and bright. The serving portions were perfect for 2 people to share. The service was really friendly and the restaurant had a fun vibe. Highly recommend!!

Delicious food and the service was good. Sat on the patio and it was alight (street side Ossington so high foot traffic, only reason for less stars on atmosphere) The burnt rice bourbon cocktail was good, but a touch too sweet for my taste (I like bourbon and usually favour spirit forward drinks, this one was sweeter than an old fashioned) Highly recommend the slaw!

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Toronto. It slaps every time, I’ve had the vegan tasting menu 3 times now. This review is for fat choi, but I’ve dined with people who eat meat and I love how they accomodate a vegan tasting menu with non veg ones. Every dish is just so delicious, nuanced flavors and textures. The Sambal and turnip cakes are a standout. I love that the menu regularly changes too so there’s always something new to try! Service is excellent too. And they just upgraded their seating to look more upscale and plush, also more comfortable. It is a consistent, solid choice for delicious food. Some of the best value for money with the tasting menu, very affordable at $60 with tons of food but as good as places like Lee and DaiLo that are $150-250.

FOOD: standard, nothing much to talk about. • Char Kway Teow: noodles is overcooked, lack of flavor. • Rendang Beef: the beef is dry like cardboard, thanks good it sit in a bath of decent curry otherwise it'll be a disaster. • Pork Belly Pancake: a piece of pork belly on a crispy coconut pancake, not bad but not a big fan of this. • Pisang Goreng: the only good thing on the table. Good combination of texture and flavor. DRINKS: • Madam Xine: decent, I don't have much memory left for this as it's not really stand out. • Nice Rice O.F: love the toasted rice in it, it gives a good asian vibe. SERVICE: not bad, bartender and waitress constantly checking up on us. VIBE: half bar half restaurant, it's so noisy in there. Nice decoration.

This was a very underwhelming experience.. the food was definitely not authentic and had very weak Malaysian flavours. The sodium level was extremely high as well. Especially for the price for what you get on the tasting menu, it’s daylight robbery with the 20% gratuities. The drinks were too tart and the juice tasted overly concentrated. Not a fan. On a more positive note our server Wing was very friendly, helpful and attentive.
