Sofra Istanbul

It is hard to maintain a consistent level of high-quality food as well as service in the restaurant business. Sofra Istanbul is a rare institution that has managed to do just that. I would recommend any menu item without hesitation.

My wife and I visited Sofra Istanbul after doing some shopping at Ikea. We were in the mood for turkish and happened to find this restaurant. Overall the restaurant is pretty spacious and the employees are very kind and welcoming. What I was most impressed with was how fast we received our meals. It was probably within 10-15 mins or ordering. The portion sizes are good too. I can't tell you the number of times I pay 13-14$ for a shawarma and how small it is. This place is pretty generous in that regards. If you're in the area give Sofra Istanbul a chance

I have been here before with my friends, both the food quality and the service were better then... It is among the top 3 worst doner I have ever eaten in my life. I think it is a place that should definitely be avoided. Everyone should do their job well and get paid accordingly.

Surely I know Turkish has good quality and tasty food but maybe I chose the wrong dish. I ordered mixed beef donors ( I don't know exactly if It is shawarma or donor ) with salad, tahini, and bread. They add much salad and a low quantity of beef.

Here you can find Turkish food served in a non-flashy venue - suitable for solo, casual, or family dining. Compared to other Turkish restaurants, they give a lot of food with a very reasonable price tag. They also provide a side option for the Turkish "bulgur" (instead of just rice or fries), at no extra charge. Main courses are served with a fresh and delicious garden salad. Given the great value, I don't mind paying a bit for bottled water (they don't really offer tap water). Grilled meats are very good - notably the shawarma. However, my favorite dish will remain the cheeseless pizza-looking "lahmajun" - probably the best I've had in GTA. If you still have room for desserts, I recommend the kunefe or shekherpare - which I often get with a small glass of Turkish tea. Finally, while this restaurant opens late (until 10pm), I would recommend getting there no later than 7pm if possible - I find the quality is more consistent that way.

Small place, busy, great service, good food. Turkish cigar rolls had a little overwhelming flavor of feta cheese. Maybe they need to serve it with a sauce. But the wraps, chicken shawarma, chicken shish kabob, and falafel were all delicious. The walnut baklava tasted a little burnt, so it wasn't that good, but the pistachio one was amazing.

This was my first time going here and it did not disappoint!! The food is amazing!! The portions are large and the taste is incredible!! If you want the spice just ask and they will bring! I will definitely be going back! Upon arrival we got seated right away. Was served shortly after salad was served (which was amazing!!) and within 10 minutes our food was ready! The mango juice is absolutely amazing!! Real mango juice!
