Skara Greek Cuisine

I absolutely love this place. I come from Greece, and nothing we have here even comes close to the great tasting food we have back home. Once you walk through the door, you will be greeted by the friendly staff. The owner, Danny, and his sister are such warm, welcoming people. They make you feel like you’re at home. If you want a quick snack, I recommend the pork Gyro with fries. They also have amazing pork and chicken souvlaki, not to mention the calamari. Their prices are also very reasonable. Try this place you will absolutely love it

I’ve been ordering from Skara for years. The quality and consistency is top tier. They are always going to go beyond to satisfy their customers. Easily the best gyro place in the entire east end, and one of the best counter serve restaurants in east york. Tasty food, reasonable prices, friendly and sane staff (unlike a place on paper), speedy service, clean establishment. Skara is a credit to my neighbourhood and I hope they remain in business for decades.

Had a great time dining at Skara. We ordered the chicken gyro dinners and were greeted with generous servings of salad, pita, chicken, rice, and lemon potatoes. Everything was delicious, albeit the chicken was a bit dried-out. The staff was great, served everything with a smile, and even stayed back a few extra minutes while our dinner stretched past the closing time. Enjoyed the service and most of the food. Will be back for more.

Awesome gyros! The meat was tender and lightly seasoned so the natural flavour shines through, while the toppings were fresh. The size was perfect for the price. The staff were friendly and fast. Definitely a place I'll be going back to.

This is my first visit to Skara Greek Cuisine, which is as authentic as a Greek souvlaki fast food restaurant gets! During my stays in Athens, I would typically go to a BBQ place for meals. Skara takes me back there. Greek music greets you as you enter and make your way to the spotless, clean, open kitchen. Everything is prepared on the spot right in front of you. I had the special BBQ chicken kontosouvli dinner. It's only available Wednesday to Sunday. A generous portion of tender marinated boneless chicken is flanked by rice and roasted potatoes. It also comes with a big lettuce salad topped with a lot of feta cheese. Everything is so very fresh and delicious. Perfect balance of herbs and spices, on the chicken and crispy lettuce salad and enough lemony tang from the baked potatoes. The staff is warm and welcoming and genuinely want you to enjoy your visit. I am waiting to return and try the other menu items.

Hot and fresh grilled meats, tasty sides and friendly service. We had the lamb chop dinner, and the mixed gyro dinner. Huge portions and really delicious. The meats are grilled to order, and perfectly done. Salad and rice were fresh and tasty. Comes with creamy delicious tzatziki and warm fresh pita on the side. Would definitely return. Seems like really high quality food for a takeout style restaurant. We dined in and had great service.

Great staff, service is 15/10, its not a restaurant but feels like one as they bring the plate to you if you’re waiting for your food. They do mention to you how long the food needs to be cooked so if you’re in rush to order something else. I have visited this place over 3 times now and I can confidently say its the best in the area, they have never missed anything from the time I walked in, until the time I left. The food is a lot, delicious and well presented, the chicken gyros is their uniqueness in my opinion, it just tastes so so good and I was never able to finish any of the dinners I got here. Overall, this is my goto place whenever I’m around the area. 100% recommended. Note: I specifically asked to put more salad and less rise and potato on my souvlaki sinner.
