Was looking for a healthy and tasty lunch and Singh's Roti and Doubles hit the spot. Had both the regular double (chickpeas) and goat double (goat and chickpeas) and both were flavorful and decent portion size. Jenny the server was helpful and kind. Would like to try more of the menu in the future.

I always wanted to try a double but for some reason never got the chance so today I made the chance and went to Singh’s and it was the best thing I ate after the longest time. I’m a big fan of chickpeas and chickpea double was so delicious. They are priced very well for the amount of food you get and the service was outstanding, very positive attitude from the girl who made it, I’ll be coming back for more and will bring friends aswell.

I've come to this place a few times now because I tried to give it a chance. The first few times I came to this restaurant I ordered doubles. I ordered their special where you buy five and get one free. Tell me why ALL the channa was hard? It's not like it was the end of the day and I can excuse it by saying the food was probably made earlier in the day and that's why the food tasted stale. Secondly, I ordered jerk chicken/rice and peas and that was very much a let-down. I asked for oxtail or jerk chicken gravy, (whatever they had) and that was not given. Then, I also discovered that my rice and peas was just a dry, unseasoned rice. Just plain rice with jerk chicken, no peas. The curry chicken and roti I ordered was also not appetizing as the chicken was chewy and the aloo was turned to mush upon opening it up. The saving grace about this place is that it hypes you up thinking that when you walk into this place you are going to get awesome food that you grew up with but when you get the food and bring it home, the hype immediately fizzles away much like a pop drink left out on a counter overnight. Lastly, the girl behind the counter, though nice, clearly did not listen nor understand what I was asking for. I consider myself to be a very clear speaker and always double check my order before I pay but after I repeated my order, she did not reciprocate by confirming what I said. To be fair, she is probably new and as such, it was a rookie mistake. I wish this place luck in the future but so far the Trini and Guyanese joints that I have visited in Durham region do not compare to what is offered in Scarborough. Good luck Singh's Roti Shop, you will need it.

Ordered the boneless goat roti and 3 doubles with their pepper sauce on the side. Couldn’t breath as I finish all my food most of the time. The goat has lots of flavour, but I think this batch they made didn’t cook look enough as the goat meat was a bit tough. Everything was on point. Doubles, fresh and tasty, roti was beautiful and favourable. Pepper sauce was fruity, spicy and peppery. Nice.

Stumbled on this place yesterday and decided to try the doubles. The taste was super satisfying and did remind of Home🇹🇹. Also tried the dhal puri which was very soft and tasty. Definitely way better than alot of roti shops in the Durham region. Without a doubt this is the place to go for if you are in need of the nastalgic taste of Trinidadian cuisine.

This is my 2nd time here and last time. I ordered the same food thinking they changed. Nope!. I ordered the 20 oz curry goat boneless hoping I'd get more meat this time around, instead they still give me more rice. I want y'all to look at the pictures below. Look at the side view of the 20 oz container of rice they give me and a little bit of meat. 5 chucks. For $17 I expect more meat than that. You gave me salad on one side like you are doing me a flavor when you're covering the mountain of rice. I finished eating one side of the food with meat and look how much rice I have leftover with no meat to go with it. I don't know about you but I don't eat plain rice like that. I have to eat it with something. I don't think it's fresh cause when she lifts the lid up and I see the yellow crust on top of the meat, it seems like it came out of the fridge cause when she mixed the goat. Under the yellow crust was steaming hot. So obviously the meat is not fresh. Plus it didn't taste fresh. So 20 oz to them means 18 oz of rice and 2 oz of meat. I'm sorry I can't be ripped off like that again.

Taste good! Went at 3pm to get lunch. Lunch deal ends at 2pm apparently. It doesn’t mention anywhere that’s why 2 star less. I wanna like this place. So I’ll give it another try “before 2pm” sometime soon Revised July 30, 2024- price gone up for lunch by $4. I ordered boneless goat roti. Pros: 1. Huge portion. 2. Very tender meat. 3. Good meat roti ratio 4. Amazing doubles Cons: 1. Not as flavourful as expected. 2. Goat tasted like veal.
