Shoeless Joe's Sports Grill

Came here to celebrate a 2 year anniversary since it was walking distance from home. I also thought the food looked good from the photos, although i was clearly wrong because it didn’t taste the way it looked. The photo on instagram is the one advertised compared to the one I received, pretty disappointing.

So I go there to watch the raptors game with a friend. For context Shoeless Joe's is a sports bar/restaurant. The two female servers were very nice. It is the "manager" who sent out his/her poor server to deliver the message that the volume for the raptors game wouldn't be turned on because the majority of people wanted to listen to whatever mix of music as opposed to two hours of a lical sports team. I'm not sure who the manager polled but the place was barely half full. In a nutshell we don't care that you guys who came to a sports bar to watch a local sports team want to have a good time. Eventually we called the server over again and told them how ridiculous it was and the volume got turned on for the game. Funny thing was the people in the area then started actively watching. Out of touch out to lunch manager. I will avoid this location in the future.

Food was pretty good. The service was great! Our server was sweet, funny and attentive. We came in with a couple of teens after a birthday party at Activate down the street. However, it seemed other families decided to attend with younger children that they allowed to run around the restaurant and bar. What a dangerous situation for the services who desperately tried to handle that situation with grace.

I waited 90 minutes for someone to take my drink order even. After 30 I told myself I’d sit there and see how long it took before someone even offered to take my drink order. A literal 90 minutes before the server came over. I asked her what took so long, she said she was busy serving other tables, and she was. I saw 3 parties seated after me get their order taken, food delivered, paid and their tables cleared all before someone offered to take my order. It was actually comical at that point. Is there service here any good? Not by my one account here but other people seemed like they were enjoying the service. Great atmosphere with big tv’s to watch multiple sports at once. Can’t tell you about the food because after 30 minutes I told myself I couldn’t in good conscience give them any money and only stayed to see how long it was going to take. A literal 90 minutes, no exaggeration. Probably would not recommend.

Came here last night to celebrate my birthday with my party of 7. I was accommodated right away and seated with my group. The food was great and affordable along with the drinks. Best Pina Colada ever! 2 waitresses came out at the end of dinner with a complimentary dessert and sung me happy birthday. It was a kind unexpected gesture that made my night. The waitress was very nice and helped us select drinks. I would recommend here to anyone celebrating a birthday! Amazing job Shoeless Joes! Will be back.

The food was average but the wait staff was excellent- friendly, courteous and attentive. The chicken wings were good (honey garlic) but sticky and there were not enough wet naps provided. The spinach artichoke dip was nice and hot but flavour was just average also. The kids mentioned they enjoyed their fish and chips but felt there was too much batter on the fish. The chicken tenders went largely uneaten. The poutine was solid as was the local rose. The place is big but the staff made you feel like you were hanging in a friends' basement before a big sporting event so it felt comfy and warm- a nice respite from the cold weather outside. The bathrooms were nice and clean too. All in all- a fun place to meet up.
