Shodo Sushi

The sashimi was fresh and delicious. The prices are kinda expensive for what it is though. They are small rolls and if you order it through the website, you get charged a service fee.... when it's already priced high and I'm actually doing them a favour to order it online to make it easier. I did 2 separate orders and didn't notice the service fees both times because I forgot to order something.

The restaurant was quiet. We went on a Tuesday evening. We had the Osaka special sushi platter approximately 60 pieces. There was a very generous servings of fish. The fish to rice ratio was very excellent. I felt that. Yes there was some sauce on the sushi, but it wasn’t overwhelming amount of mayonnaise or sauce it was perfect. I enjoyed the texture of the crunchy sushi as well. The sushi salmon taco was 👌. but my favourite was the Osaka box because it offered all different types of fish and the fish were fresh and it had a lot of good choices. I hope that they have a box with torched sushi or they can offer a torched sushi add on for an extra price to switch. Overall, the vegetables were fresh seating and interior were very clean and the service was fast and there is ambient parking, very worth your dollars and in my opinion better than Toro Toro on the same plaza.

I ordered the syake don with salmon and avocado. It tasted great with the soy sauce, which added a nice salty flavor. The miso soup was average and the side dishes included the mini squid which was delicious. The price was a bit above $20 including tax and tip. This price is quite reasonable for a sushi restaurant. The service was good and the server checked up on us many times. Overall, the experience and food were great and I would probably come here again.

A new place in Scarborough area. There are many restaurants in this plaza, and this one attracts my eyes with their interior design. Neat, modern and clean with Japanese essences there. The place is not huge but spacious which gives you a comfortable atmosphere to eat and chat. We ordered two rolls (spider roll and Forbidden) with karrage. The rolls are very tasty and fresh while you may think that the size is relatively smaller than other sushi houses. Yes, I think that they are smaller, but aren’t they just perfect for you to eat them in one bite? The prices are also reasonable, and also with good services. We will definitely go back again!

New spot that opened up near us - we were pleasantly surprised. Food was fresh and modern take on sushi. Owner was very attentive and friendly. Service was great, specially with some of us having food allergies - they were very careful with their prep. The “take-out” vibe kinda threw me off, because their food is so pretty and then we get to eat it with disposable utensils and plates. All in all a great experience and we will definitely be back!

There was a new sushi spot in the area so we gave it a try and we really enjoyed it! The sushi was very high quality with very fresh fish made fresh. The price was very fair for the quality. The shodo tasting box was amazing with freshly torched sushi and a wide variety of their menu items to try. They also gave us some cute stickers and the seating was comfortable.
