Was passing by, went in and ordered a Papri Chaat to go, one word- Horrible. The papri was as stale as it gets, bad aftertaste & the old man at the counter was cranky AF. Please save your money & time and avoid this place!!

I went by Shish Mahal to try the reasonably priced buffet and was quite pleased by the food here! There's a decent number of veg and non-veg dishes. Three chicken curries including butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala. There was also a chickpea and potato curry options. I was pretty impressed by the variety. The food is not fancy or too rich/oily. There's a home made feel to the food which was a nice change from typical Indian restaurants. The service here is friendly and quick. It was nice to have fresh naan made to order, along with rice options for carbs. The buffet also had tandoori chicken made fresh however this dish was a little dry for my liking. Lastly the dessert options are fantastic. Gulab Jamun and khir (a rice pudding). Both of these were so good! The gulab jamun was warm and the perfect end to the meal. Overall a decent Indian place in the neighborhood with a reasonable buffet option. Definitely recommended if you're craving decent Indian food.

I've been coming to Shish Mahal for years, it is my favourite restaurant. The dishes are excellent, made exactly as I like them. The food is not too spicy and is delicious. I have brought friends to the.restauramt and everyone raves about it. If you're looking for authentic Punjabi/Indian food, Shish Mahal is the place to go. The owner is extremely engaging and very welcoming. The staff are wonderful. Highly recommend it.

I recently dined at this restaurant and have mixed feelings about my visit. On the positive side, the food was delicious. Every dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and presented beautifully. The culinary skills of the chef are commendable, and the menu offers a delightful variety that can satisfy different palates. However, my experience was marred by the behavior of the store manager. Throughout our meal, the manager continuously stared at us while we were eating. It felt as though he was watching us to see if we were wasting food, almost as if we were receiving a free giveaway. This made my dining companions and me feel extremely uncomfortable. To add to the discomfort, I noticed the manager and the cook whispering and glancing in our direction multiple times. This behavior was distracting and made us feel unwelcome. When I approached the manager while paying the bill to ask if everything was alright, he simply told me, "Don’t waste food." While I understand the importance of not wasting food, the way the message was conveyed was inappropriate. Staring at customers while they eat is not only rude but also makes for a very awkward dining experience. Overall, the food at Restaurant is great, but the management's behaviour needs serious improvement. Dining should be an enjoyable experience, and feeling scrutinized while eating is far from that. I hope the management can address this issue to ensure a more pleasant atmosphere for future patrons.

The Shish Mahal is a tiny place on the Ridgeway in Missisauga. You can easily miss it unless you are looking for it and there are many big restaurants in the vicinity. But the Shish Mahal stands out. It's small, it's not fancy but the two outstanding things here are first the Service with a 5 star smile. With the people working here, both old people, are terrific. War, living and they have the correct suggestions for what you should eat. @. The food is simply fantastic. I would recommend a first visit and warn you that it can be addictive. Thank you Sheesh Mahal.

I have been eating here consistently for nearly three years and I've tried many Indian restaurants in the GTA. I can confidently say The Shish Mahal is my all time favourite Indian restaurant. From the quality service to the pleasant experience with the owner and chef, this place is everything I like in a small local restaurant. The butter chicken and naan are my personal favourites. Garlic naan is also great. I eat the chicken and fish tikka weekly. The pakora and samosas are great starters. Love to end my meal with their gulab jaman for dessert. The reason I always find myself coming back is I don't find their dishes to be oily and they use quality meat. Happy to recommend this place to all friends and family. The restaurant have also brought back their dinner buffet for Friday and Saturday evenings which has vegetarian and non-vegetarian options along with a salad bar and dessert. You can't go wrong for $21 and it's served with fresh naan to the table. Highly recommend.

Best little Indian buffet, wonderful and warm staff. Been coming here for 20 years. The food is fresh and delicious. Their butter chicken is amazing, clean, fresh and cool salad bar, when you walk in, you are are treated like family, the staff behind the counter are always smiling and making sure the trays are topped up. I like all the dishes, here less is more and they have all the classics. Nice place to relax, Buffets are on Friday and Saturday, check them out, a family favourite!!! Always a pleasure!

Lovely Indian Food Experiance We were recommended to visit Shish Mahal to try it as we were planning on catering for a function we hosted. The waiter was very helpful and accommodating, offered us a lot of options and advises etc. We loved the Butter Chicken and the Kebab, they have a license so liquors can be purchased. We enjoyed our food so much that we gladly ordered for the catering for our function.
