This restaurant is a decent option when you’re unsure of exactly what you’re craving, as the menu offers a mix of Northern Chinese dishes along with a few Cantonese options. We ordered the shrimp dumplings (har gow), which were fairly average, and the fried bao, which could have been crispier as they didn’t seem fried enough. The smashed cucumber salad missed the mark, as the cucumbers weren’t actually smashed, and the black fungus and celery salad could have used a better balance of ingredients—there was too much fungus and not enough celery. The scallion oil noodles were also underwhelming, lacking flavor and depth in the oil. While the food overall was mediocre, the pricing is reasonable, and the spacious, comfortable seating is a plus. As a bonus, they offer a 10% discount if you pay in cash. It’s not a spot I’d rush back to, but it might work for a quick, casual meal if you’re nearby and in the mood for variety.

Ordered takeout. The general tao chicken was amazing and the shanghai noodles. Wasn’t to crazy about the pork and chives dumplings. The beef in my noodles was subpar. Overall great ingredients , resonable prices for the area- highly recommend a try! Great service!

We ordered a variety of dumplings including the Rainbow Dumplings. All the dumplings were decent expect for 1 mishap. The Xiaolongbao were solid on the inside and there was no broth whatsoever. This was a slight disappointment. Its also important to note that the rainbow dumplings all come in different flavours so your experiences may vary. I personally found them all good but the people I was with preferred certain ones over others. At the end of the day, the colours are just a branding gimmick (albeit a fun one) but its a cool thing to try at least once just because its fun and not too crazy.

The soup dumplings tasted really good. We also had Mapo tofu and rice with it. I recommend both dishes! The server there was really nice too; she continuously filled our water and gave us napkins without us having to ask.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! These dumplings are a feast for the eyes, displaying their vibrant rainbow colours that trigger maximum salivation. It allows you to try all their signature flavours, for those indecisive ones. Another popular dish is their pineapple pork that's tangy and sweet, with a thin batter coating the meat and actual pineapples to give a burst of refreshing acidity.

The rainbow dumplings are okay but the soup dumplings were really delicious. Rain buns i think would be better if they had some sort of filling, wasn't a fan of it just basically being coloured bread. But in saying that everything did taste fresh regardless. I also appreciated that the server check if we had allergies. There is a washroom on site and they offer a discount if you pay cash over card.

2.3/5 This was a disappointing experience. It’s rare to find a spot in Toronto where the food is subpar, but we unfortunately stumbled upon one tonight. We tried the Chili Sauce Pickled Beef as an appetizer which was okay. A bit salty but good flavour. The Sweet and Sour Pork that followed was a fairly small portion for the price. The dish itself was nothing special. The Stir-Fried Shrimp Noodles was simply bad. It was swimming in oil, so much so that we wanted to pat it down with the paper napkin. There was a pool of grease at the bottom of the plate. Finally, the steamed Shrimp and Pork Dumplings. These were the best of the items we ordered but the skin was think and doughy, which detracted from the flavour of the stuffing. We were quite surprised by the Google ratings here. I’m not sure what we missed. We walked away feeling rather underwhelmed. Pros would be the cleanliness and the cordial staff. Service was slow. Unfortunately no more stars to give here :(

So so so glad this place is Downtown! Have dined in a few times already and it is consistently the best. Food is served extremely quick and fresh and even though they specialize in dumplings/buns their dishes are such high quality. Service is also as good as it gets, everyone is kind and the waitress working weekdays is so nice! Definitely underrated because never as crowded as its quality and service should guarantee it is. Will have to try and get take out next for a full review! June 2024 (Update): Still a favourite DT! New dishes/pictures updated.
