Tbh, the food was mid. I tried to be spontaneous and try a new place out here but I was disappointed. The fried dumplings, were dry. So was the festivals, like they were reheated after baking. The rice, didn’t have flavour, nor did the fried chicken. Some parts weren’t cooked, rushed. Ordered 3 rotis, very dry and bland. Oxtail was rushed as well, more cartilage and bones than meat. Only came here because it was the closest Caribbean restaurant. Spent over 40$, for the food to go to waste and I hate that because I love food. Especially Caribbean food. But next time I’ll just take the 20mins drive. When the restaurant has all the items you want, go somewhere else. Has to be the last plate of food from the menu of the day, or fresh.

Haven't been feeling well so decided I needed some chicken soup and Shelly's didn't disappoint! I literally had 2 bowls of soup and went to bed and this morning I'm feeling good. The soup is rich and hearty without being heavy and is always seasoned perfectly and the dumplings are so good I could eat them all by themselves. Have loved this place since they opened and love them even more now. ❤️ 👍👍👍👍👍

This was thee worst experience I had with Jamaican food. Ordered from skip and I must say not a good first impression. Ran out of beef patty and subbed it for veg and it was rock hard and beyond crunchy, oxtail portion was too small for the price, and curry chicken had a weird season and colour to it, like it was submerged in dye and salt. Will not be ordering here again if i want authentic Jamaican. Better places out there.

The food is good although there are few rooms for improvement. The dumplings were dry but they also soaked up a lot of oil. The banana bread was also dry. The plaintain was a bit too overripe and greasy. The breadfruit tasted like it was just sitting there. It was not fresh. The ackee was good. Their boiled provision was also good. I love how soft everything was. Their goat was good but I found it a bit too spicy for my tolerance. The jerk chicken, seemed it could use a bit more spice and flavor but still decent. It could've also be a little more tender. Some parts were tender and some part dry. The coleslaw was good. The plantain porridge was decent. It just needed a little more plantain taste. Rice and peas was also decent. I also love how affordable everything was and you get a large portion even for the small size. They are also not stingy with the gravy.

Way under the radar!! I know - you already have your favourite Jerk Joint. Well don’t pass up on this place! The prices are better than all competition and the flavour are at the very top of Brampton‘s best. And yes, I know about Brampton‘s reported best. The name truly reflects the food. It feels like it’s coming from your grandmothers kitchen. If she was Jamaican which mine was not. What I like about this place is it has an expanded menu than the typical pork and chicken options. The lovely lady at the counter asked me if I’ve ever had some of the dishes on the menu I replied no. She gave me samples which was so kind. Have to say I’m now a lover of goat head soup especially on this cold rainy day in March. If you haven’t checked it out order through a delivery service or stop in. The spot is very clean. This could be our new weekly staple but best to keep both of our favourite two restaurants open. So we will alternate between the two. This will be a new favourite of yours.

I just wanted to say the owner was extremely wonderful and I had a great experience and the food hands down one of the best in BRAMPTON I highly recommend I got the oxtail with rice&peas the oxtail was very soft and so much flavour/ my bf got stew chicken so flavourful will be coming again

Nice looking shop. I had high hopes. I ordered oxtail. It wasn't good at all and I got some pieces of meat that were very fatty. Lacked flavor. It hard to mess up oxtail.... I honestly took 2 bites in the car and went to another spot across the parking lot and ordered a whole new meal. I'm really not trying to disrespect you place but i hope you re evaluate your oxtail recipe. Maybe everything else is good but I'm not coming back. Also, 4 pieces of oxtail for $18? SMH.
