Shelby's Legendary Shawarma - Ajax

Always been a fan of Shelby’s shawarma, but my order from Ajax store on the new year’s eve was very poorly made, unlike usual the beef shawarma was dry and my chicken shawarma had very little stuffing. See the pictures

Recently went to Shelby’s Ajax location Heard so much good things about the shawarma from people who have dined at other locations However this what quite underwhelming Shawarma wrap wasn’t anything special My wife ordered a shawarma bowl with salad with the tawook chicken breast It was completely inedible The salad was doused completely in garlic sauce and she could barely eat it Barely any tawook chicken breast in the salad as well Location is quite small to dine-in Really disappointed tbh and likely won’t be coming back

I went there on Saturday and ordered the beef bowl with rice and salad. Got home and what I found was this nasty mix of mayo, garlic, and salad. Beef was completely hard and un-eatable. The whole thing was completely drenched in this sauce mixture. I was very very disappointed considering I paid $19 with tip. The staff making the food were completely care free and didn't seem like they wanted to be there. No customer service skills at all. Photos attached show my bowl of salad sauce and me throwing it in the garbage it was completely inedible. Me or my family will not be coming back, God know what they're putting in their food.

Shelbys stays legendary, was definitely amazing. First time trying it, and it was really good. Hope to try the shawarma on saj bread soon! Place is super clean and welcoming, vibrant, and well executed look. Love that they have self ordering kiosks.

Really wanted to feel like this place deserved 5 stars based on the atmosphere and packaging especially. It was easy to order using their iPads there and it was pretty quick however the main thing was supposed to be their shawarmas which I didn’t feel was it. The shawarma lacked flavour and the fries they added inside the shawarma tasted old and greasy as if the oil wasn’t hot enough when they cooked it, not sure if it was a one off here but based on how clean the store was and ease to order I’d give them a 3.5 ⭐️ not sure if I’d be back unless there was a special and if they improved.

Wed Oct 9/24 bought slice of pistachio cake, was close to finishing it too until I saw what I thought was 2 hairs baked into the pistachio toppings. Upon dissecting it further discovered it was 1 long hair. Grossed out is an understatement. Wonder what I will find in the churros?

This has been a great quick food option in this plaza. I love that everything is made fresh and if the place isn’t full you can watch the whole process. The prices are great and the portion size is generous. I feel you really get such good value for your money where as other places the quality hasn’t increased but the prices have. Only thing I would recommend is the dine in area in quite small. So if you more than two people, get take out. If it’s not busy you could fit more but there isn’t lots of seating. Also I love that there is a self serve cash option and you can walk around and shop or go to your car if you don’t want to be in the store and then you get a text when it’s ready.

Just ordered from this place for the first time. I ordered the chicken wrap. It was a good tasting wrap, however the description says it comes with onions, pickles and tomatoes. I personally need the veg to cut through the meat and French fries and my wrap only had pickles. I took it apart thinking maybe it was on the bottom, but no luck. I’m guessing they forgot, but for me I really prefer some veg to cut through the heaviness of everything else.
