This place is not so secretly a Canadian location of 小杨生煎 (Xiao Yang Sheng Jian). My Shanghainese mother loves this place, and it hit home for her with authentic tastes. We've come a few times to have the 双档 (Shuangdang) and shengjianbao. Mom was so shocked and happy that she could find her favourite foods from home here (and done well too). Prices are reasonable compared to other local Shanghainese spots, and the restaurant interior is extremely clean. We hope Shanghai Dimsum will be here to stay!

I found this place with 5 star ratings with only 20 reviews, not quite sure. We just stopped by and order 2 dumplings to try out, their dumplings are one of the best that we have ever ate so far.

Shanghai Dim Sum has the absolute best pork soup dumplings in all of Canada! These little flavor bombs are simply out of this world. The delicate, wrappers are perfectly pan fried, encasing a piping hot, savory broth and tender pork filling. The soup inside is rich, complex, and absolutely bursting with umami. What's even more impressive is that these dumplings taste just as incredible the next day when reheated at home. The wrappers stay soft and the soup stays hot and flavorful. It's like getting restaurant-quality dim sum right in your own kitchen. In addition to the mind-blowingly good pork soup dumplings, Shanghai Dim Sum also offers a fantastic selection of other soup options. Their curry beef vermicelli soup is a personal favorite - the aromatic curry broth is simply divine. And their classic wonton soup is equally delicious, with tender wontons floating in a savory, soothing broth. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and the service is always friendly and attentive. It's clear the owners take immense pride in providing an exceptional dining experience. Shanghai Dim Sum is an absolute gem! Their pork soup dumplings are truly amazing - the delicate wrappers and piping hot, flavorful soup inside are to die for.
