Shaanxi Restaurant

My all-time favorite restaurant. The food is very authentic. You can even find items that you cannot find elsewhere in GTA such as peppery soup(hu la tang). The owner is very warm and friendly. I travel 1 hour each time to eat here.

Two of us went for dinner and ordered three dishes: Xi'an style cold noodles (凉皮)，Picked bun with lamb in Shanxi style(羊肉泡馍)，and Big platter spicy chicken with hand pulled noodles(大盘鸡). Everything tasted so good and authentic except that there was only very few pieces of lamb in the picked bun with lamb dish and most were fat. The chicken dish was very big portion and would strongly recommend.

My favorite restaurant of all time. I love Shaanxi food in general, and this place in particular does a fantastic job. The food is very reasonably priced, arrives in minutes, and nowadays is packed very professionally when you ask to take out leftovers. The staff are also very friendly. Every time I'm in Toronto, I stop by here.

This was my first time trying Northwest Chinese cuisine in Toronto, and I absolutely loved it! The owner clearly knows how to make authentic dishes, and the service was fantastic—everyone was super nice and welcoming. We started with the lamb skewers, which were delicious. The cold noodles (liang pi) were also flavorful. We ordered two types of Chinese hamburgers (rou jia mo): one with just pork and another with green peppers and cilantro. Both were great—the pork was tender and flavorful, and the bun was freshly made. I highly recommend the lamb soup with bun (yang rou pao mo)—the broth was rich, and the bun was chewy. The hand-pulled lamb was another standout dish, full of flavor. The vinegar fish had a unique twist and is definitely worth trying. The big plate chicken (da pan ji) was fine, though the noodles were a bit overcooked and stuck together. The stir-fried cold jelly noodles were interesting, but I’d suggest prioritizing the lamb dishes over these if you’re deciding what to try. Overall, a great experience with some fantastic dishes, especially for lamb lovers!

Plenty parking at Commerce Gate. Authentic northern china-style restaurant. We visited on Wednesday late afternoon, there were only 2 tables and not many people. Good customers service. Believe the lady is the owner. She was friendly and attentive. Prices are decent. We like our sour fish in soup. It's one of my favourite dish anywhere, anytime. Lamb Skewers are flavourful and little spicy.

I ordered special combo, with cold noodles, Chinese pork burger and naan in lamb soup. All tasted very good. The owner came to greet us with warm smiles, very nice. The combo only cost 23 dollar by the way, it is more than enough for 2 ladies😃

Authentic northern china-style restaurant. Good fast service. Prices are fair. I love the Xian cold noodles and a little spicy. It's one of my favourite dish anywhere, anytime. Lamb Skewers are nice and flavourful. The fried rice is excellent.

Great homey Chinese restaurant with authentic seasoning and "wok air"! Love their chili oil too, fragrant and spicy. All the food came so quick. The service was also great. Their portions are generous and prices are amazing. Most dishes were around $10. The Stir Fried Clams were meaty and big. The Lamb Soup Noodle came in fresh hand pulled noodle and vermicelli, I was surprised. The Stir Fried beans were nice and tender but the minced pork was a bit too salty. The Lamb Skewers were balanced in meat and flavour, not a bite I couldn't chew. The only thing was that their dishware were all disposable plastics. There are 2 unisex washroom fairly clean too.
