Net on this place is that it's rather overrated, imo. Came here because the 'rumour' is that they cook their fries in beef tallow. We didn't taste that at all. Ordered the seafood chowder to start, which we found to be quite good (although it would have been better with some hot sauce, which wasn't available). The cole slaw was very bad...tasteless with little to no zip (despite our adding s&p, vinegar). The main was the trout fish & chips. Perhaps we should have just stayed with the tried & true haddock, but we felt the oil in the trout would have lent itself well to being moist and flavourful. It was neither...dry and flavourless as well. Dipping into the tartar sauce didn't help neither...it was runny (thin) and lacking tanginess as well. The chips were allright, although we were expecting more flavour given they are (supposedly) cooked in beef tallow (hmm). For sure they would greatly benefit by being cut thinner to add proper crunch (we ordered ours well done and about a 1/3 were still soggy). I suspect their chips will become soggy quickly with takeaway. Service and beer selections were good. But the Sea Witch box is now ticked. Ymmv.

Ordered a one piece meal and side of gravy. The fish was actually inedible - extremely overcooked and chewy like JERKY … the chips are extremely under seasoned and that gravy was definitely not coming to the rescue. I love fish and chips so this was a shaaaame.

They specialize in one dish so it's logically done well. Service was great and they help you pick your fish. I'd recommend getting a two for one for 2 people cause the portions are rather large. Pricing is fair for the quality and portion sizes. The location is OK but not really fancy. It's a fish and chips shack so I wouldn't expect much. It's good spot to hit the craving.

Smashing IT! Why did I wait so long to visit this little gem in the heart of St. Clair? The fish and chips were amazing. The fries are cut in a unique way, so they're thick and hardy. Try not to get to full on the fries, or you'll be wobbling out like me, LOL I so appreciate the malt vinegar! Love the fish it's fresh, and the batter is light and very crunchy. Love the decorum of the place as well. Amazing and friendly customer service!

I love fish and chips! On a recent trip to Toronto I went on the hunt. I tried a few place and they were good but I found this okay to be the best. Firm fish, airy batter that’s not too thick over the fish and a rather unique tater sauce that adds a really fun flavour. Fries are cut thick and the coleslaw I’d not drowning in dressing like other places. If you’re in Toronto and love fish and chips, give the “Sea Witch” a try. You might fall under her spell!

Food was disgusting and disgraceful, you wouldn’t feed it to your worst enemy. Joke of a place and service wasn’t any better. Way over priced for the quality. If you want good quality fish and chip go to Len Duckworths on Danforth.

Its a nice popular joint in the neighbourhood thats known for their Fish and Chips as per their name. Seeing it so vibrant walking past, I needed to try it. The interior is nice. Some parts feel a bit outdated in their seating but it brings a certain charm not seen around commonly. The fish was cooked well and tasted like great quality fish. Unfortunately the Chips weren’t as good as I hoped. For what you get, its also on the pricier end.

Fish and chips is a classic dish that I hold near and dear to my heart. The perfect combination of fried fish, crispy fries, and tangy tartar sauce is hard to resist. Sea Witch Fish and Chips boasts a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The main staff members were knowledgeable and helpful, but I suspect the person who was battering and frying the fish that day may have been new to the job. Their menu offers four different types of fish: halibut ($26), haddock ($17.50), trout ($18), and pickerel ($19). Although I typically prefer white fish, I decided to try the pickerel, and I was pleasantly surprised by the well-seasoned fish, despite the thick batter. The fries were decent, but a bit inconsistent in texture. While my experience at Sea Witch Fish and Chips was good, I believe there is room for improvement. I would be willing to give it another try if I were in the area. Overall, I would give Sea Witch Fish and Chips a 3.5 out of 5 rating.
