Scotty Bons Caribbean Grill

While it’s great to see Jamaican food gaining popularity, Scottie Bons seems more interested in marketing a sanitized version of the cuisine rather than staying true to its roots. This approach may work for those unfamiliar with the real deal, but for anyone who knows and loves genuine Jamaican food, it’s a disappointment. If you’re looking for true Jamaican flavors, this might not be the place. I recommend Beryls Pepperpot.

Ordered a couple of the Jerk chicken bowls online and the portion sizes were a far cry from what they would normally provide in person (When you can actually look at them preparing it). Which has gradually been reduced as it is. I'll try to explain my observation: I could actually see the bottom of both the containers! Ok you'd think the food got pushed to one side of it so maybe that's why. But then that side would be bunched against the plastic top. But nopeee.... I can see the bottom of the container AND the food barely goes over brim of the foil. I probably had 7.5 table spoons of rice before I ran out. I never write reviews and maybe I'm just hangry and maybe it's a problem with this new location but I'm just sorely disappointed with how I've seen the portion sizes shrink and this order just felt like I am being Jerked around (pun intended). Taste was still on point though. Hence the 2 stars.

Omg guys believe me when I say this the jerk chicken and sandwich and bbq chicken and sandwich had me melting 😭me and my 2 friends went there and it was our first time and our first time trying jerk too and bro we weren’t disappointed 🥹 10 stars is too small of a rating frs they need a medal and a whole galaxy of stars. And then the fine waiter boy omggggggg😭❤️he was so nice and the other chefs too were so nice I didn’t want to leave me and my friends too pictures and made videos I absolutely loved it I wanna go back rn…yall should make this place so famous they deserve it The 3 girls that came one the 26th of sept 2024 at night

One of the best quick eats you'll ever have at anytime! The staff was very night at this location and the food is absolutely stunning! Definitely recommend the jerk chicken bowl! It will never disappoint your taste buds.

Amazing food, lots of flavour! Portions are good, pictured are the jerk shrimp sandwich and jerk chicken bowl. Very pleased to see how much chicken they give for one bowl. Their spicy sauce tastes great but not recommended for those who can't handle spice very well.

I’m so impressed! I ordered tonight on Uber Eats, and it was my first time trying out this new location. Let me tell you, it was WELL worth it!! The 2 for 1 curry chicken bowl special for delivery was so delicious! The portion size was HUGE — one bowl served me and 2 of my children. Everything was so fresh, and the flavours all complimented each other so well. The coleslaw and ‘Scotty Rice’ was satisfying even on its own! The curry chicken was so moist and seasoned well. The kids said it had a bit of heat to it, but as an adult who likes spice, I felt it was mild and perfect for a curry chicken dish. I also ordered 1 stuffed patty with coleslaw, tomato, ‘Scotty pickle’, and mild sauce. No complaints at all. Patty was crispy and flaky on the outside — even with all the toppings. Inside was juicy and hot! Coco bread was soft and fresh. I’ll be adding cheese next time, but I wish it wasn’t an extra cost! If you’ve never tried a stuffed patty, you need to taste this “Jamaican Burger”. I’m just really happy about my order tonight. The meal was packed quickly and it arrived very hot and packaged well. Really good food, i got half and half jerk and bar bq chicken bowl with saffron rice, AMAZING flavours!!! Their tamirind sauce is to die for, i can totally have it everyday with everything! Staff is really nice too. However the place is really tiny. They dont have enough seating even for a group of 4 people, which is just normal for restaurants. We sat on high stools and my kids kept falling off…..Then they dont have any washroom, i went there with kids, who needed to use washroom and wash their hands, but ended up going to tim hortons accross the road….i dont consider such places family friendly. I will keep it in mind for future, this place is good for takeout, but not for dine in.

Solid spot to get some fast food Jerk Chicken takeout. This location's Chicken tasted better and was more seasoned. This might be the result of it being a new location. Nonetheless, this is right beside me and I'm excited about that. Check it out! I think they may have changed their Hot Sauce recipe. It wasn't spicy at all, please please bring back the old recipe as it was very spicy and flavorful. I probably wouldn't come back if their hot sauce recipe isn't the same as the Warden location, I hope the time I went was just an accident or something.
