Scotty Bons Caribbean Grill

We ate at Scotty Bons today and it was excellent. Their jerk chicken bowls for $15 (at the time of this writing) gives Chipotle Mexican Grill and Osmows a run for our money. The food was really fresh, lots of flavour and the right amount of spice. The team working behind the counter are friendly and fast. We visited just past high school lunch hour so the tables needed some TLC but other than that, I'd recommend to friends and visit again.

I’ve been a customer at Scotty Bons on Hwy 7 for a while now, and this was my fifth visit. The food and customer service have consistently been good—never disappointing, but there’s still room for improvement to reach an excellent standard. However, one issue has been recurring: the customer washroom is always closed. It’s puzzling because I’ve noticed employees using it, so it’s clearly functional. When you offer dine-in, washroom access is usually a given, and it feels like a basic courtesy to provide this for customers. I hope management can address this. Otherwise, it’s a good spot, but this issue does impact the overall experience.

We came here along time ago when it was a bit crowded, now it's practically a beautifully designed palace. The food especially the OxTail was just fantastic, flavourful and delicious. The atmosphere was fresh and roomy with comfortable chairs and tables... The BBQ chicken is perfectly cooked and very tasty.

It's definitely good, but don't come in expecting authentic Caribbean flavours. The jerk chicken tasted more like curry (probably from the other stuff in the bowl) and the curry goat was a bit dry and not super strong in flavour. Still, the portion sizes are great for the price and it's good fusion-ish food.

Best Place For Caribbean food! Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Been in this place a couple of times and it never Disappoints. I recommend the Jerk Chicken, Bbq Chicken and the best Curry Goat I've ever had. The Place itself is clean and very well organized. Staffs are nice,friendly and helpful. Good Vibes, Great Food! Heard about this venue and wanted to try it. First and foremost this is not a traditional Caribbean Restaurant. They serve a Fusion of cuisines with Caribbean food. They do it extremely well. The location in Markham only has 5 parking spots, but the service is fast and friendly. First I had a Jerk Sandwich loaded with all the toppings and hot sauce. About $8.42 tax included. Superb tender, juicy jerk chicken and fresh flavourful toppings. I am from Caribbean and would like a hotter sauce. But this was really good. I said I would come back Later that day and I ordered 3 meals to last a few days. I ordered a Fish roti with all the toppings a Curry Chicken Roti with all the toppings and a Jerk Chicken Bowl with all the toppings. Total $50.12 Everything had the hot sauce on it. Again beautiful flavours, moist tender chicken. The portions are very large and Satisfying . They have achieved something new in flavour sensations. I highly recommend this venue.

We tried the jerk chicken bowl and oxtail bowl. It comes with rice and peas, curried veg, and your choice of several cold sides like coleslaw, pineapple corn salsa, tomato pico, pickled peppers, chutney and more. The sides are a nice touch to add some acidity and freshness, although it may not seem the most authentic. The jerk chicken and oxtail both had decent flavours but I think it could've had more punchy flavours. The chicken was boneless thigh meat but still a bit dry. The oxtail was totally worth it for just a $1 more than the chicken bowl. We got several big pieces and lots of gravy. Space is bright and clean. Service was fast - order and pay first and grab a seat.

I ordered the jerk chicken bowl and it was decent. I got 3 pieces of boneless chicken that was pretty dry. The flavor was also not that great. The rest of the bowl was pretty good. You can customize what you want in the bowl. Rice and beans, curry potatoes, coleslaw, pickled veggies, tomatoes, and a couple of sauces and gravy. The service was really good and you can eat inside the restaurant. There isn't a lot of parking spots outside so if it gets busy, you might have trouble finding parking. I paid almost $17 for the meal. For that cost, there are better options in Markham.
