Had a wonderful experience at Sassafraz tonight for our 31st anniversary! The restaurant is beautiful, the service is excellent and our dinner was absolutely delicious! We had the soup special, a roasted cauliflower soup, then had the duck breast and the NY steak for entrees, shared a side of truffle Parmesan fries, all over a bottle of Merlot Sauvignon, then enjoyed both of the cakes on the menu, the chocolate cake served with ice cream, and the cheesecake. Espressos at the end. The restaurant was very cool and relaxed when we arrived at 5:30 with plans to go to our show at 8, but it got full and super lively after 7. Strongly recommend!

The asparagus lemon soup was superb. I had the "Betina Salad" Tomato and peach with fresh avocado. I call it "Betina" because our server suggested the Avocado addition. She was delight. She made our girls luncheon memorable. I highly recommend.

I had a delightful evening at Sassafraz! We were seated in a beautiful spot under the skylight. From the appetizers to the main dishes, everything was excellent, especially the salad! The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because it took unusually long to receive my cocktail, likely due to an issue at the bar. Despite this small hiccup, the overall experience was great, and I would definitely recommend it!

Went for their fix price menu - had been several years ago and was excited to try the restaurant again. Service was great, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous, but the food was extremely disappointing. All of the item descriptions sounded delicious, but the execution was not there. I had the salmon as my main and it was absolutely devoid of seasoning - it was cooked properly and the ingredients were fresh, but there was absolutely no flavour, not even salt and pepper. Same issue with the starters we had - bourrata and ceviche, prepared well but lacking seasoning. The deserts were also still frozen - my cheesecake had a frozen spot in the middle. It is understandable that some restaurants order out for their desserts but the lack of attention was disappointing. It's a shame, I would love to have this place in my back pocket for special occasions but I will not be coming back.

Beautiful interior, and the service was excellent. The food was quite good as well. They offered us free champagne and macrons at the end of the meal! I would recommend the truffle fries!

The food at Sassafraz never disappoints. I’ve mostly been here for events and the prix fixe menu items have been pretty good. The steaks are cooked perfectly. Would love to come back and try their regular menu as well.

The food at the restaurant is good, with a particularly pleasant atmosphere when the weather is warm and sunny, as they open the balcony and door. The welcoming staff were friendly, though the main server was just okay. Overall, it's a nice spot for a meal on a sunny day.
