Food was great, flavours were good, service came on point and friendly staffs. All that we ordered came fast too. Nothing to complain. Great place to bring a big group, inside is very spacious and open concept. although its a vegetarian resturent, they got a big menu to choose from.

The food was too oily so customer should request for less oil. The Roti/Paratha are good size so order accordingly. The quantity and quality are good. Nice ingredients used in cooking and it was perfect.

Great dine out place with a variety of choices to choose from. We had golgappe, vada pav, tikkas, platter.. and much more. Everything was great!

Sankalp Restaurant - The Taste of India is the famous in Durham, Whitby, and Oshawa; for authentic healthy tasty "FOOD" It is a grate Indian restaurant everyone should go; charm music and nice environment. Recommend to everyone. Thanks for your great service.

Visited this restaurant twice recently. Had an amazing experience each time! Almost all the food items we have tried so far have been absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend the Indo-Chini Sizzler and the Paneer Methi Garlic from Indian Curries menu. Their Podi Masala is amazing too, we couldn’t stop eating it with Dosa and then Naan/Roti later. 😅 The staff is very courteous and polite. All the servers are very friendly and answer any questions you might have. The service is fast and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. Some of the tables are too close to each other, so that might be a bit distracting as you can hear your neighbouring table’s conversations over your own. But it depends on how loud they are. There are Bollywood songs playing in the background all the time, so you can enjoy music while eating too. Overall, their menu is great with lots of options to choose from and their food and service are excellent as well!

Honestly a huge disappointment. Was super excited for the place to open but wasn’t worth the wait. It’s definitely not South Indian cuisine and isn’t anywhere close to it nor is it authentic. It’s good Indian food, the service is great. They have invested in the furniture and ambiance but went cheap on cutlery.

To start, I had the Indi-Chini Sizzler and Tandoori Momo’s, which was served to perfection with vibrant, bold flavors. For the main course, we chose the Veg Jaipuri and Kaju Curry—both dishes were rich, flavorful, and expertly spiced. The Garlic Naan was freshly baked and warm, a perfect accompaniment to the curries. I also enjoyed the Mango Lassi, which was refreshing and had a delightful balance of sweetness and tang. The service was excellent—attentive yet unobtrusive—and the staff was eager to offer recommendations and accommodate dietary preferences. The food arrived promptly, and each dish was beautifully presented.
