A wide variety of delicious bar dishes and drinks available till late at night. So if you're starving and everything else is closed, this is a perfect spot to finish up the night in a lively and fun, authentic Japanese atmosphere. Also note that this location hosts two business; Bar Sampo (@sampo_toronto) in the evenings, and Ohiru Cafe in the mornings and afternoons, for delicious breakfasts and brunches. On the menu: • Ohitashi: Japanese blanched greens with savory sauce • Beef Tataki: Seared beef, onion, pea shoots, fried onion and home made ponzu sauce • Grilled curry: Tomato rice, melted cheese. • Gomaae Duo: Blanched green bean & rapini with black and white sesame sauce • Karaage: Japanese fried chicken with aonori seaweed • Tsukemono (Japanese pickles) Instagram: @sampo_toronto & @ohirucafe

Ive only lived around this place for 1.5 yrs and have read about their ramen for a while. It did not disappoint! Ramen: so simple yet packed full of flavors (altho also a little bit small, and for this particular price point, granted this is more like a izakaya rather than a ramen joint) Pork jowls with ponzu: So simple yet beautifully done. It's a cute izakaya with delicious (but also pricy) food. Enjoyed the experience tremendously.

It's pretty good but portions are small (it is izakaya style) and the service was pretty slow. We really enjoyed the chicken karaage, tako wasabi and the saba misoni (forgot to take a pic!). It's best for small groups as the place is cramped.

It's a small place but everything here tastes so authentic! One of the rare few places were you can get authentic izakaya dishes like tonjiru and ei hire. The karaage is a MUST TRY! They also have a wide range of Japanese alcoholic drinks and happy hour Asahi beer goes for $7. Our servers were super friendly and attentive to us throughout the night. Great vibes, great food and great drinks - will be back to hang out with friends again!

A must visit foodie spot with great vibes and tasty food [Food] The food at this Japanese snack restaurant was absolutely delicious. I tried several dishes, but my favorite was definitely the karaage. It was perfectly seasoned and had a nice crispy exterior while still being juicy and tender on the inside. All the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted amazing [Drinks] I tried both the sake and fruit sake options, and they were both smooth and flavorful [Service] The service at this restaurant was perfect. The waitress was always attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed [Atmosphere] The atmosphere of this restaurant was cozy and cute. The restaurant itself is small, but it adds to the intimate and welcoming vibe. The music playing in the background also added to the great atmosphere and created a relaxing ambiance
