Ruumors Resto-Lounge

If you're craving some afro-fusion dishes, check out Ruumors Resto-Lounge! I had the opportunity to try Ruumors as they invited me to come sample their menu. I had never heard of them before and it's a bit out of the way for me, but my friend and I were pleasantly surprised by the food! There are some board games available while you wait, a great playlist, and the staff waiting on us was really nice. The space was dimly lit which made it harder to see in front of you, but it added to the ambiance. What we got: - Coconut Shrimp - Chicken Steak with Jollof Rice - Cinnamon Sugar Puff Puffs - Ruumors Sangria - Abuja Sunrise Final Thoughts: The coconut shrimp was very crispy with quite a lot of meat on it, I liked the char on their chicken steak which was still very tender and it went well with the sides. We finished with pillowy soft "puff puffs" which were fried dough tossed in cinnamon sugar. The drinks were a bit strong for my taste, but still yummy. If this location wasn't so out of the way for me, I'd definitely come back more often!

My experience was 10/10, from the ambiance to the food and especially the service!! If you’re a fan of Nigerian food and want to go somewhere aesthetically pleasing with great food you’d love it too! :-)

So I was a bit annoyed when we first got there , they asked if we are there for the ticketed event from what we knew and what they posted entry was free. They tried to get us to pay . Then they said it was fine because my cousin had called already saying she wants to reserve a spot for her bday table for lounging /snacking. I order off the menu , suya platter with spring rolls and samosa , 65$ I got a cocktail they have 18$ (Mai tai) and got 1 shot of tequila with pineapple . I did not get a bill she bring the machine over and I'm asked to pay 125$ which is insane to me . Fraudulent charges 1000% it was my cousins birthday and didn't want to make a scene I just paid it . Never will I go back either . Simple .

Terrible experience with food prices and food quality . 15 for a bowl of rice , 3 dollars for plantain, 20 dollars for protein which i didn't even enjoy not enough and overlooked and 10 dollars for a corona . My bill was 62 .38 after tip. Be careful and check prices before you order my plate was showing 15 $ dolars but i was told it was just for the bowl of rice . I personally wont go back and it was my first time as a customer.

I had a timeeee at Ruumors for my birthday! The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing!! 10/10 recommend and we plan on returning soon 🥂. Our waitress (Faith) was absolutely amazing! The sweetest ever!

The food here was soooo good my friends are so picky and every one of them enjoyed their meal. The music was amazing and the vibes overall were great. The service wa great and the people were so sweet. We got to take nice photos and enjoy their photobooth light ring. Definitely would recommend

Hosted my birthday party here it was very disappointing. The food was bad, burnt fish, pasta too salty, guess couldn’t eat it. Fancy tower drinks look beautiful but taste so bad. The DJ saved the night, good music and vibe but so disappointed in the food and service. Wish I had read the reviews 1st. Payed alot of money to have good food and was so disappointed. Definitely can’t get the birthday moment back, the server was rude and keep rolling her eyes at my guess. It’s sad when you try to support small business and the results suck. Definitely not going back or recommending to anyone.

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Ruumours Resto Lounge today, and it was an experience to remember! Despite not being of African descent, we were warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Booking a reservation online was a breeze with plenty of availability. To ensure everything was set, I called the restaurant and spoke with a very pleasant gentleman who confirmed our reservation. Upon arrival, the restaurant wasn't too busy, allowing us to appreciate its beautiful aesthetic right away. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server, Sag. She was warm, pleasant, and incredibly patient with us as we navigated the menu, being first-timers to Nigerian cuisine. We started with the coconut shrimp, which were perfectly battered and crispy, with a delightful shrimp-to-coconut ratio, complemented by a sweet chili sauce. For the main course, we sought Sag’s guidance to choose an Afro stew and decided on the Egusi soup with turkey, accompanied by pounded yam. Though it looked complex, the first bite revealed a heartwarming dish reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. It’s a must-try if you haven’t experienced it before. To finish off our night, we indulged in puff puffs drizzled with caramel sauce, reminiscent of Jamaican dumplings with a hint of sweetness—absolutely delicious. As we wrapped up our meal, another employee came over to inquire about our experience. We gladly shared our positive feedback and received recommendations for future visits.
