Amazing steakhouse right in Downtown Markham attached to the Marriott. The service from the hostess to my server was absolutely fantastic. All staff were polite and professional. My server Bill was attentive and humourous. The dining room was clean, spacious and lovely. The food was done to perfection. My steak came perfect on a scorching hot plate. Highly recommend

We celebrated my mom’s birthday at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and from the moment we stepped in, it was clear this place was all about the upscale vibe. With tall ceilings, dim lighting, and a sleek, elevated interior, it felt like the perfect spot for a special occasion. The service was on another level—our servers were attentive, made sure everything was just right, and added to the polished experience. We shared the Porterhouse for Two, while the rest of my family tried other cuts of steak, lobster, and salmon. Each steak was cooked to perfection, with that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness that’s worth every bite! Paired with classic sides like mashed potatoes and broccoli, it all came together beautifully. Now, fair warning: it’s a splurge, but definitely worth it for a celebration. Highly recommended if you’re looking to mark a special occasion in style!

We had the best service by Chris. Steak is a bit greasy because it was placed on a sizzling plate with lots of oil. So the steak will keep on cooking and stay hot.

Hi Lana. You have a great steak house in Downtown Markham! After a matinee movie, my son and I decided to try the Happy Hour menu at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse across the street. The restaurant is bright, with many large windows. We prefer this setup instead of enjoying our steak in the basement of a Hilton hotel. The bartender, Adrian, is attentive and has us seated in the bar area right away. We browsed through the Happy Hour menu and decided to order the Voodoo Shrimps as an appetizer, followed by a steak sandwich and a prime burger. The succulent Voodoo shrimp was served shortly, and they were delicious with a touch of heat. The cucumber salad was a nice addition to the shrimp as it balanced out the spicy cream sauce. Even my son did not want to eat the shell around the shrimp tails, I munched them like they were crispy snacks. Yummm. Too bad the shrimps were tiny and not as advertised on the menu, as “large shrimps”. Adrian soon served the prime burger and steak sandwich, and he was kind enough to have the chef cut it in half so my son and I could share the juicy sandwiches with melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. Both dishes were well prepared to medium rare temperature with a side of French Fries. We loved our Happy Hour meal at Ruth’s Chris. During our late lunch, the valuable father-son time was priceless, as both Adrian and Sarah gave us private time to chat. Their service was much appreciated. Our bill was very reasonable, and we would return to the Downtown Markham Ruth’s Chris again to indulge in their steaks.

A big party tonight! Before talking about the steaks, we need to talk about the plate because it is HOT 200 degrees. It is so important because the cold plate or room temperature plate will cool down the steaks and squeeze the juice out of the steaks. Then you end up with a plate of cold steak sitting in a puddle of red bloodish sauce halfway through. Wait, let's talk about the bread first. Somehow, it is very tasty. Who could have imagined that complementary bread could be this good! Crunchy outside and so warm and soft inside. I ate 3........ I have to keep telling myself, "I am here to eat steak, not bread." Calamari and Cesar salad are normal, nothing worthy to talk about. Alright, the steak! The regular 6 Oz filets are the most basic cut, yet it is soft and cooked to perfection. The 16 Oz strip loin is rich in flavor. The 11oz ribeye is softer than strip loin, a bit more fatty. I ordered the 40oz potter steaks, shared with my wife and daughter. Oh, it is so good. The broiler shears the outside to lock the juice inside. The steak is flavorful, but spices did not overpower the overall taste. You can still taste the natural flavor of beef. Medium rare is my favorite, pinkish red and warm in the center, perfect. The price is definitely on the higher end, but the quality justifies the price. The side dishes are good. My favorite is the creamy spinach. The services are top-notch as well.

Great place to come for your special celebration. You need a reservation for dinner though. Even though it was a Tuesday it was still busy. Nice ambience, great service. Great food. Tell them what you’re celebrating and they’ll respond accordingly. They made my birthday super special. Be prepared to pay $$$ for a good meal that will fill you up. The steaks and salmon and lobster tails were cooked to perfection!

The manager, Sarah, went above and beyond by decorating our table beautifully and even took a memorable photo of us. As for the food, everything was superb. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Mac and Cheese was rich and creamy, the Sautéed Mushrooms were savory and perfectly seasoned, and the steaks were cooked to perfection—juicy and tender. Each dish showcased the quality and care put into the preparation. Ruth Chris is always an amazing experience, and this time was no different. We were celebrating my birthday and my brother’s graduation and our server Bill made it an unforgettable night. The service was spectacular and the food was on point! Definitely great value for what you pay for. Thank you for this unforgettable experience! Edit: I was seeing other reviews compare this to the Keg… they aren’t comparable. This is in a different league. The service is very noticeable and for at least steak (the primary thing I eat at both of these restaurants), is way better here. They heat plates to 500 degrees and the flavours are so much stronger here.
