I recently dined at Royal Mezgouf in Etobicoke and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The food was wonderfully prepared, with none of the dishes being overly oily. The lentil soup was a highlight—authentic and full of flavor. The Mezgouf chicken was cooked just right, and the fish was perfectly flavored, with a touch of lemon that added a delightful finishing touch. The portions were generous, making it a great place to share a meal with friends or family. The service was prompt, so we didn’t have to wait long for our food. We called in advance hoping to place an order for the mezgouf fish, but unfortunately, they didn't have something small enough for our party size, so will have to try it another time. We enjoyed the sizzling chicken plate which seemed to work as a main, rather than an appetizer and loved the fresh, soft, hot bread that came with the dish. One small suggestion for improvement would be to separate the seating areas for shisha and non-shisha patrons. It would enhance the dining experience for those who prefer a smoke-free environment. Despite this, the overall experience was excellent, and I look forward to visiting again.

We were visiting from out of town and really wanted a good Iraqi place to try! We tried quzi and half chicken with rice. They do give stew and bread on the side. Unfortunately, the bread was over baked and blackened from one side. We were disappointed in the bread quality, good nonetheless.

Ordered mixed grill for 2 and lentil soup. It’s a great place and warm service. Off hours when we came so not a lot were dining in. I like the flavors and the cook of the meats. Will try more next time.

My husband and I traveled all the way from Greektown to try some good Iraqi food and we were not disappointed, the owner his name if I am not mistaken “Ziad” was so sweet! Thank you so much, and looking forward to come back soon!

Amazing experience food service band everything is awesome!! Have been there few times and had a chance to meet the owner the other day and requested something special which was not in their menu options, he made it happen so quickly. So kind so respectful and the DOLMA was amazing! I can not thank you guys enough! My favorite Iraqi restorant.

Great food. Mazgouf fish is the best 🥰. BBQ is fantastic. Best Iraqi bread in town 😍I liked the staff especially Tawfeek, the manager. He was pretty welcoming and generous. Highly recommend and definitely coming back again.

Amazing experience, food has a unique taste, every dish was well executed. The food feels authentically homemade in a great way. Come here for dinner on their music nights too for a great ambience. Great boat themed atmosphere that's elegant but classy. We have only been here twice but will definitely return. The staff are busy bees, and work so efficiently.
