The lady that was serving was very kind and conversational. The latte art was very beautiful and tasted very smooth 💖

Their service is very friendly, however the food takes extremely long as it’s practically a one woman show. We waited over 40 minutes for an all day breakfast dish (toast eggs sausage bacon and cut strawberries). The cafe was empty when we arrived late afternoon (1-2pm) and it was not until about 25 minutes in did another two guests sit down. The food was not bad but it was cold / borderline warm. Perhaps this was an off day and/or this cafe is more popular for drinks!

Can't comment on the food, but I've been to Rica Cafe a couple of times now and I liked it. It's tucked away in King Square mall, but it has an outdoor patio facing Markland and 16th avenue. Unfortunately when we came this time the patio wasn't open because it was too windy. The lady who works here is very kind. She made a decaf coffee fresh for my brother who can't drink caffeine. She was also very patient with us with the menus. It is a little bit of a tight squeeze in terms of seating, so I can imagine it feeling a little crowded when busy.

Cozy café. Tried their "red cappuccino," a decaf cappuccino. The owners were so friendly and whipped it up in no time, served with a dainty almond cookie. They have a wide assortment of very tasty looking cookies, and allegedly delicious Portuguese tarts. Only a few tables on the inside (they have a patio outside for warmer days), but it's a lovely atmosphere overall 😍 Sidenote, the personalized napkins; super cute and it shows their attention to detail!

Me and my friend found this nice and quiet café to meet up. Irene, the owner, was very friendly. She recommended us to try the South Afrian coffee. We also tried the desserts. The milk desseert is always my favourite. We enjoyed a nice meal and time there. I recommend this café. I would love to try the South Afrian curry next time too

Rica Cafe has amazing egg tarts. They have the best crispy pastry texture I have ever tasted in GTA. They are quite small, so you can have two. Their coffee is made with South African coffee beans and has a good flavor. The big breakfast they offer is average, nothing special, but I like that it comes with avocado and mushrooms. It's good for sharing between two people. I opted for the sugar-free version of the Shunde double skin milk, and it was okay.

Went with my parents to this cozy little cafe in King Square shopping centre. We ordered Portuguese egg tart, HK milk puddings and a very berries smoothie, they are all freshly made and tasted delicious. The owner Irene is very nice and friendly lady. Ps. don't forget to check out and buy some wall hangings that were made by students from a local registered charity school which support developmental disabilities students.

NOT RECOMMENDED Overall ⭐️/5 Environment ⭐️⭐️/5 Service ⭐️/5 Food ⭐️/5 South African restaurant locating at King Square Shopping Centre. The mall itself is very quiet, not much stores were occupied and most were closed during day time. The restaurant isn’t easy to find, it was all the way at the corner. Only four tables: one 6-people table, two 2-people table, and one 1-person table. Three staff in total including server and chef, you can imagine the speed of service would be delay due to short staffed. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, 15 minute for drinks (came every 5 minutes lol), and MORE THAN AN HOUR FOR FOOD!!! Drinks: we ordered milk tea and lemon tea, the flavour is very mild. Each drinks take 5 minutes to arrive, even tho for the same drink…not sure if it’s South African tea leaf but the flavour/taste/fragrance were quite disappointing… Food: we ordered two curry dishes, one steamed pork ribs, and one beef dish. The food LITERALLY TAKE OVER AN HOUR TO COME. And the food quality isn’t great at all!!! That’s why we got so disappointed. The meat had frozen taste into it, not fresh, and I saw them microwaving food, didn’t see them pan fry my beef. Food portion was very small as well. Overall, not a very pleasant experience so I do not recommend at all.
