Riaz Afghan Caterer

Friday 27 December 2024, I had Riaz catering (menu # 2) for 35 people. Friends and relatives had used Riaz Catering for various occasions, and had established excellent reputation in the community. But last night, food was very substandard. First, our choice of eggplant (Menu #2 spinach or eggplant) was totally ignored. The Kabuli had scarcely any meat in it. The Shula was salty. The Qurma was extremely oily and full of chickpeas with some unchewable pieces of beef. (I don't think it was veal as the menu claimed). The beef kabab was uncooked. And the catering kitchen we visited suffered from poor hygiene and the communication skills of Riaz Catering is worse than its food. As we all know, Afghans value (good food and service of guests) greatly. Unfortunately, Riaz Catering let us down.

We ordered food on Sunday for 30 people and we got food for 60 people. The food was so fresh and delicious. We got the food on time and the price was very reasonable. I had Riazs food at wedding too and it has always been delicious and fresh.

Food was absolutely amazing! The service was awesome! They always answered every request. They went above and beyond and gave more than enough food! Would highly recommend! Will definitely be back for more events!

Disappointing Experience and Poor Customer Service. I recently placed an order for catering services for a wedding, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Two days ago, I communicated with the son of the owner to finalize the details for an order for 17 people. Despite sending all the requested information, including the address, I received no confirmation or acknowledgment of my message. This left me feeling uncertain and concerned about whether my order was being properly handled. Today, I had to take the initiative to call and ensure everything was on track, only to be met with a lack of professionalism from both the owner and his son. The owner, in particular, was incredibly impolite and dismissive when I expressed my concerns. His attitude gave me the impression that he didn't care about the success of my event or the service they were supposed to provide. I shudder to think what would have happened had I not followed up myself. I believe that customer service is as important as the service being provided, especially for significant events like weddings. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and rude behavior I experienced with this catering service made what should have been a smooth and stress-free process unnecessarily frustrating. I cannot recommend their services to others based on this experience. Please learn how to do the business.

We ordered food from them for a very important event and they're not cheap, they decided to send us old food. The rice was slimy, it seemed they tried to save it but you can clearly see it. It's disgusting and this is yet another afghan catering business selling garbage.

Riaz Jaan made the most amazing and delicious food ever for my wedding on July 1st. Every single person loved it and kept asking who my caterer was. I highly recommend Riaz! His food is top notch, delicious and clean and his service is excellent and he is very efficient. He is better than all the other Afghan caterers out there. Thank you kindly Riaz Jaan for the excellent service and delicous food :)

Literally the worst experience with this caterer. Very unprofessional and rude. They ruined my wedding my giving us a hard time one day before my wedding (made my husband wait in their parking lot over 2 hours to pay) and on the day of the wedding they brought cold food out and missed some tables (their timing was completely off from table to table). The desert table was very unpresentable, they used cardboard boxes (in the video it looks horrible) to place fruits and dessert on top instead of using a more appealing food risers. Last minute they always cause a problem so that we pay them more.. this is their tactic. My brother's wedding was last week and on the day of his wedding they were being shady and going around asking each family member for more money and more tip. Disgusted and will never go with them again. Also, their food is dry and tasteless. Riaz food is definitely overhyped.
