an absolute gem in DT Toronto! It’s the perfect spot for a cozy brunch, a romantic date, or just a chill hangout with friends. The steak is perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy with that ideal pink center. The crispy fries on the side? Absolute perfection. If you're looking for a spot with great vibes and even better food, Republique is a must-try!

Really like the place here, very warm and cozy. The service is amazing and super sweet. Strongly recommend the fried gnocchi, which is very creamy and yummy. Also, the cod surprises me, it’s fresh and the design is so special. The dessert we chose the upside-down cake with apple and caramel sauce. It’s not that sweet but very delicious. Love!

we visited as we were in the area and saw a sign for their opening. we were the only customers for the duration of our stay, which meant we got to experience pretty individualized service. overall, the staff were friendly and kind, even offering to take song requests for the playlist. our server forgot to put in our food order (after us reminding twice), but we did receive a discount for our wait when we asked. the general atmosphere was pleasant, nice décor and chill contemporary music. our unplanned visit also meant we didn’t realize just how upscale the place was, especially for an area populated by smaller, homier businesses—which is to say the prices were high and serving sizes were small. while the spaghetti was thoroughly fine, i cannot say enough about the rich and buttery pan-seared cod. it was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables on the side were absolutely delicious. our espresso martinis were good; a little more sweetness would not have gone amiss. the café crème tasted about the same though the crème de cacao did come through in the foam—i’m tempted to come back and try more of their signature drinks, which all looked intriguing.
