The Queen Mother Cafe has been a hub for good food, drinks and company on Queen St West since 1978. Locals and visitors to our city know it for the flavourful global comfort food it serves, with a slant towards Lao-Thai cuisine. The long granite bar draws regulars over smart cocktails and a friendly wine and beer list. The Queen Mum is also famous for the wide selection of enticing desserts on show in its vintage display fridge. The back yard garden patio is an oasis in the heart of the city offering shelter and refreshment on sultry summer days. If you prefer enjoying our fare in your own surroundings, Queen Mother T'Go offers food and drink for pick up and delivery.

Wasn’t expecting a bar-like atmosphere but it was a fun juxtaposition. I ordered the Ping Gai chicken and the portion was so large it took two people to finish…. The chicken was bigger than my face. Very generous and delicious!!

This is a hidden gem walking distance from Oosgode Subway. I highly recommend visiting this place.Reasons? Well -1) Very kind staff.I dined there alone and they made me feel very welcome and cared for. 2) Food was delicious and fresh.Very tasty.Ping Gai was so good. 3) Very close to Subway station 4) Great ambience.You will be teleported to English countryside 5) Good place for team lunch.

Good food and great customer service. I recently visited Queen Mother Cafe and my experience was pleasant. The ambiance is great, we sat on the patio and the actual restaurant is very large and spacious. We ordered the pad Thai and the seafood hotpot curry which were both flavourful. Great spot for lunch or dinner!

I absolutely LOVED the patio seating, it’s like a special secret dining area. The food came out delicious and the chicken was juicy and tender. A bit pricey but definitely great for a date night where you want to impress your date with Asian fusion.

Historic, intimate & hip! Many years have gone by, and this restaurant is still crushing it! Love the mood! The service is top notch, and the food is delicious. The Pad Thai is one of their staples, and so are the sweets! The patio in the back is quite cozy, so don't miss it.

Queen Mother is a true Toronto gem that I'm so glad to have rediscovered recently. The patio is the perfect escape from the downtown hustle and bustle, with umbrellas and foliage creating a quiet oasis for an intimate meal experience. The staff here is always wonderful. While reservations are recommended due to its popularity, they do their best to accommodate you, even if it means finding you a spot in their serene backyard garden. If you're craving Asian fusion-inspired cuisine, a great selection of drinks, or just a casual bar vibe, Queen Mother is the place to go. Highly recommended.

It’s a must-try in downtown Toronto; one of the oldest restaurants on Queen Street. They offer Thai and international comfort food. And of course desserts. They also offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. They have a very cute and cozy dining area and a garden patio. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ordered “Ping Gai”, which included grilled chicken, rice, salad and broth; highly recommended. The “Beefeater Burger” was perfectly cooked and seasoned and more than enough for one person. “Chicken & Shrimp Bah Me Hang” was very delicious and had a kick to it. We finished off our delicious meal with “Cappuccino Chiffon Cake”.
