Was lucky enough to enjoy their tasting menu - and I promise you will not be disappointed. No detail over looked- The food was amazing. Each course a new experience - exciting flavours and textures. Plated with the most whimsical dishes. The dynamic couple that runs this place and the amazing team that supports their efforts are some of the most hardworking, creative and dynamic people I have encountered. Thank you.

I found this place when Googling vegan restaurants in the Whitby area and was able to reserve a table for two day of. My partner and I were a little lost in finding the restaurant since there was no sign above or on the windows with the restaurant's name. The atmosphere was quite nice and my partner loved the little stone mushrooms on the table lights. The tables are on the smaller side and we found it a bit difficult to move comfortably. The owner introduced themselves to us and their staff, they were very kind. They also let us know that everything is sourced locally in the Durham region which we loved. We had their a la carte menu and got a parsnip root soup each and a fungi pizza to share. The soup was nice with a touch of citrus. The pizza was the highlight. I don't know what they use for their vegan cheese but it was some of the best I've ever had. We'll definitely be coming back for their tasting menu!

A gem has opened in Whitby! Food quality and the warmth of the place is exceptional l! I am a grown up but the theme and interior gives a woodlands fairy vibe. ✨ Absolutely loved it and will go back again and again. Each menu is carefully prepared and served - you can tell real passion went behind it. They are a small team so please be patient and considerate to find a reservation. When you do, it's so much worth it. Great non-alcoholic drinks actually brought the focus back to food. Congratulations on opening a quality food place!

We bought tickets for the 6-course tasting menu and had our meal after the restaurant was only open a week or so. They create the menu based on what can be sourced locally, so it is continually changing. The food was delicious. The portions were appropriate for this many courses (except way too much pizza lol). We did take most of the pizza home. We were incredibly impressed by the creativity of the chef. It truly is fine vegan dining. When the courses came out, the servers explained the dishes and depending which server you had, would also have information about the creation of the dish and the farmers who provided the produce. They even mill their own flour The restaurant was quite small which made it cozy and comfortable. It wasn't licensed at the time (not sure if there is a plan to), so if you are expecting wine or beer with your meal, that's not available. They did have a number of non-alcoholic drinks to try. Would highly recommend

What an incredible meal tonight! 7 course vegan tasting menu. Michelin Star worthy. Sensationally inventive. Phenomenal flavour profiles. I will be back again and again. Owner and staff discussed each course as they brought it out. Lovely people. Delightful evening.

I have always heard such great reviews of Portobello Road and had been meaning to try it out. I had the good fortune to win one of their 6 course tasting experiences and what a great experience it was !! I am neither vegan nor vegetarian and I was blown away by the food. Everything was so fresh tasting and creatively prepared and presented. Lindsay and staff took the time to explain each of Alex’s creations from ingredient source to table. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Where else can you get a “pre-dessert”? I highly recommend dining here and I will definitely be back.

I went here with my family for a pre- reserved vegan and gluten free dinner. The chefs here are truly talented. The food was phenomenal. Owners are friendly, gracious and very talented. This was a multi course meal that was better than 4-5 star restaurants in Niagara. Flavour profiles, technique and quality of ingredients are outstanding. Book in advance, you are in for a real treat. Everything I ate was amazing, fresh and soooo delicious!

Truly the best dinner I’ve ever had! Would highly highly recommend the tasting menu experience if you have the chance, but anything from Portobello Road is amazing! The staff & owners are so lovely, and their support of local vendors, farms etc. is incredible.
