Not a bad Popeyes location, which I got an 8 piece chicken nugget combo with fries and drink. Their fountain soda machine had a few dead files in my drink, which I threw away and got another drink flavor. Clean equipment is not in the staff's vocabulary. Avoid this location when necessary.

Full disclosure: I've NEVER eaten at Popeye's as my favourite chicken was another (finger lickin') franchise. But I wanted quick comfort food for Christmas Eve, so I ordered the $4.99 Tuesday "special" (2 piece chicken) and I was expecting a tiny serving - it was HUGE! Two very large pieces (a drumstick and thigh) that reminded me of my (former) favourite chicken franchise, before they literally chopped their serving sizes in half during the pandemic. The chicken itself was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. Location itself is clean and bright and service staff were quick and professional. I honestly haven't had good fried chicken (since the beloved Stockyards BBQ shut-down a few years ago) but I will definitely be back!

My friend and I visited your store at 501 St. Clair Ave. W. around 11:15 p.m. We placed an order for 6 chicken wings and 6 chicken nuggets. Since it was snowing heavily and freezing outside, we decided to eat inside the store. According to the store’s hours, it was supposed to close at 12 a.m. However, when we tried to eat inside, the employee at the counter (who was wearing sunglasses) rudely refused us entry, stating that the store was closing. This happened at 11:20 p.m. We noticed other customers eating inside at that time, so we were confused and disappointed by her response. Reluctantly, we stepped outside and ate in the freezing weather, which took us around 25–30 minutes. After finishing our food, we passed by the store again and saw two people still eating inside. The store had not closed, and the staff member hadn’t asked them to leave. This inconsistency and the rude behavior from the staff member made us feel harassed and unwelcome. We fail to understand why we were treated this way, especially when we were respectful and simply needed a warm place to eat during harsh weather. We kindly ask the store manager to address this behavior. Is it fair for paying customers to be treated with such rudeness and discrimination? Instances like this can hurt the store’s reputation, and we hope appropriate action is taken to ensure better service in the future.

The food is good but they close early then closing time. I went at 11:48 PM for my dinner, the employee working inside said that the store is closed and she has already mopped so cannot let me in. I asked if I can order, she denied and said the kitchen in closed. I am glad there closing time is 12 but employee stop letting customer entering restaurant 15 minutes earlier.

The food along with service and atmosphere is excellent. They serve very quickly and are really concerned about the details of the customers which I liked the most . Staffs were very polite and friendly with the customers. I would really like to visit this place again.

Ordered a combo, asked for coleslaw as a side. Got home to discover they added fries instead. It wasn't even busy, just my order snd one other pick up. It's just a meh service, I guess that what happens when you hire all these "students" who don't even bother listening what a customer wants... Or maybe all orders just sound the same to them. I didn't bother going back. Always double check what they put in the box at this location!

I came in for their Thursday special and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fried chicken - it was moist, succulent, and crispy. I took the non-spicy, regular fried chicken and it was perfectly seasoned. The best part of the fried chicken is that it wasn't too greasy at all and the oil didn't taste old. Images provided here show closeups of the chicken with skin on and off just so you can see how moist it really is. Keep in mind, this was takeout and the chicken held up long enough for me to take back to the office to eat. I actually went to another Popeye's years ago and had the worst experience with re-fried chicken that was overly brown and tasted of old oil. That experience turned me off Popeye's for a really long time until I gave this location a try. It has not disappointed since. I will say, there are times when you have to wait for the chicken but I don't mind that at all if it means fresh fried chicken. Doesn't happen often but again, I don't mind waiting when it does. I've heard mixed reviews about the service at this Popeye's location and I think it really depends on when you go and who works there. Service on the day I went was great, no issues on my end. Staff were professional and polite. Atmosphere gets a rating of 4. There isn't anything particularly special about this store's design or aesthetic that would rank it higher. It was clean and spacious. The location is easy to access, right at the corner of Bathurst and St. Clair, steps away from St. Clair West subway station and is on the main level with no stairs so is wheelchair accessible and wide enough to navigate. Hey, I know it's greasy food but if I'm in the area and craving something decadent, this Popeye's chicken would be my go to.
