Pokito - Chefs Hall is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.

In 2016 we opened POKITO – Toronto’s original Hawaiian poke spot. Toronto is blessed with the most diverse food scene in the world. But in 2015, nobody knew what poke was. We fell in love with eating poke bowls on the beaches of Hawaii, and we were inspired to bring this Hawaiian-staple back home. It’s the perfect combination of fresh, healthy, and delicious – exactly what our city needed.

I tried Pokito today at Chef's Hall. Chef's Hall is a great place to explore different cuisines and enjoy restaurant-quality food in a food court setting. I chose the poke bowl with Hawaiian-style ahi tuna as my protein, along with Hawaiian slaw and Wakame seaweed salad. The tuna was very fresh and served in generous portions. The slaw was decent, though a bit one-dimensional. The seaweed salad was good. Next time, I might opt for half the rice and substitute zucchini noodles instead. The rice was good, but there was a bit too much. Overall, I enjoyed it and would go again.

I was looking for onigiri downtown and this place came up but I do not recommend their onigiri at all. I tried all 3 types they had available. I believe they were wakame, tuna and salmon. It was so greasy, the rice was so oily, the oil even seeped outside of the cling wrap so it was hard to hold, felt slimy, and was just an unpleasant experience. While I did like the rice to fillings ratio, I couldn't get past the oiliness. Hard pass for onigiris!

Good quality and pretty tasty poke at reasonable prices. While the menu isn't as extensive as a full blown poke shop, this chef's hall location has enough variety to fill your tummy and leave you satisfied.

Poke bowls are one of my favorite things to eat and the poke bowls at Pokito @ Chefs Hall are the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly, helpful, and take great care to give you the best quality product. The Hawaiian Style Ahi bowl with the Hawaiian slaw and edamame salad with sushi rice, crispy onions, pickled ginger, and the sweet shoyu sauce was absolutely incredible. Fantastic!!!

It's my first to eat poke. The food is really good, especially the unagi is fresh and tastes like authentic Japanese style. Also, the Japanese girl who helps me to order the poke is nice and passionate about her job.

Obviously on the pricier side but hey, it’s Toronto. This however is one of the best poke bowls I’ve ever had !! Unlike others, they don’t skimp out on the fish. I will also mention that their spam musubi is on the more savoury side for those who are used to the ‘sweeter’ ones.

I was super bummed by this visit unfortunately and their "ultimate vegan bowl". I've been to Pokito at other locations which were flawless, but the portions here were beyond stingy. $1.50 for a small bed of zucchini noodles and incredibly small poké scoops, I'd suggest avoiding this location at all costs to be honest. I also asked specifically for light dressing, but the bowl was drenched and soggy so that it completely overpowered and ruined the taste of everything else. The server wasn't rude, but I waited for ages to be served whilst everyone had their backs to me and they don't even acknowledge your food is ready and just throw in your tray when they get round to doing it.

Wow! This little food court gem is so great. I had no idea what a poke is but it was happily explained to me and then served with a smile. I’ll definitely be back here again, maybe even tomorrow.
