It was difficult to go for a non-taco option because quite literally everything sounded delicious. Wife and I decided for 2 burritos, mine being the chorizo. The moment the plates arrived, you knew you were in for a good time. From accommodating you, to serving you, to the dish's presentation, and finally the scrumptious taste, everything was right. We managed to 'clean' out our plates as no leftover 'taste' could be left to waste! Highly recommend

A great experience here for my friend's birthday. We made a reservation, which is likely necessary given the small size of the restaurant. Parking was a challenge, but there is a Green P that is about 5-8 minutes away that isn't too bad if the weather is good. The atmosphere is quite intimate and I did find myself bumping into other people / staff when going to and from the washroom, etc. The food was pretty good - the tacos were full of flavour and I got to try a variety by sharing with the group. I think my favourite was the beef barbacoa. The prices are definitely a bit up there for a Mexican restaurant, I believe the tacos were around $7 each. The quality made it worth it, but there's definitely other places in Toronto that serve up a great taco for nearly half the price. We also tried a couple of appetizers, including the nachos, guac and ceviche. The nachos were something special - it was a bit of a nacho pizza. I didn't expect that from Playa Cabana, given everything else was very authentic. The taste was good, but it was a bit of a challenge to share! The highlight of the night was definitely the desserts - we ordered the tres leches cake, and the churros. Definitely the best churro I've ever had.

Worst experience ever!! I order 3 tacos asking for the vegetables and hot sauce on the side because I was sharing it with my 3 year old boy as they don’t have a kids menu and the waiter refused to do that , he said either you have everything on them or nothing on them and not only that he brought me less amount of meet than I ordered and he gave me a dirty look when I asked to bring me the correct amount. He never came back to check on us until we asked for the bill. The place is quite nice but the service was unacceptable and the food is not the best, wouldn’t say is authentic Mexican food.

Playa Cabana was such a treat! With lively rustic decor, good music and yummy food it was the perfect combo for a fun night out with friends. For starters, the guacamole was good, freshly made, creamy but was lacking a bit of salt. But overall it was good. As for the mains, Carnitas in tacos was my personal favorite. Also tried the Pescado Baja Fried, Al Pastor and Al Carbon. Everything was well balanced. Loved the margaritas pitcher and finished with churros. Totally worth it. Great selection of beer as well. Overall, Playa Cabana has become a personal favorite for Mexican food in the city. Great for a night out with friends. Highly recommended!

One of the best. Worth every penny you spend. Good people, good food. Unfortunately, I took photos late after I ate half of my meal every time! Don't forget to have churres.

Best Mexican cuisine in the city! Went here 9 years ago and tastes just as great. We ordered the chorizo hard shells and chicken carbone soft shells as well as the ceviche (mahi mahi) to start. Food came quick and service was incredible! A go-to spot if you’re in the city!

What a disaster! Usually busy when I passed by so wanted to give it a try. It is certainly overpriced for what you get. 3 tiny tacos that are less attractive than tacos I had anywhere else are 21$ which probably should be 5$! We had the fish taco and braised beef chorreados. Minimal ingredients, dull taste and miniature size!

5. Fun, vibrant spot for Mexican food. Have been a few times and had take out from here and it’s consistent. The service is fast and cheerful, and the food is really good. Love the burritos the most! Patio is small and gets busy but it’s a fun atmosphere! Need to enter with stairs- not wheelchair accessible.
