Pizza Maru - Sheppard

It was a snowy day, and I was feeling quite cold after grocery shopping. I stumbled across this restaurant and decided to pop in for a meal. I started with the fish cake soup to warm up, which came with a bit of udon. The flavour was decent, so I went on to order the steamed egg and spicy rice cakes. I specifically asked the server to leave out the cheese, but it still came with cheese. I also requested the rice cakes to be less spicy, but they arrived extra spicy instead. Honestly, I was a bit exasperated. That said, being in the industry myself, I understand how things work—if a dish is sent back due to a mistake in the order, the server often has to bear the cost. Out of empathy, I decided to take it home and fix it myself by adding some milk to balance the spice. Luckily, I’m not allergic to cheese; otherwise, it could have been a much bigger issue. The food itself was quite tasty, and the server was polite and friendly despite the mistakes, so I’ll give them four stars. However, I do hope they’ll be more attentive in the future!

Great experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The Signature Shrimbul is definitely worth a try—flavorful and unique. Highly recommend!

They offer half half pizza so we can choose two flavours!! The signature Shrimbul is so tasty and cheesy! Full of flavours like garlic and mushrooms. The honey sweet potato is holy cheesy, like the combination of sweet and savoury. We also ordered season fried chicken which is also delicious!

Second time coming in here but finally getting to order. Tells you how busy these folks get even on a Sunday night. We ordered 3 things to fill our curiosity : budae jjigae which was so good on a cold night. Noodles, kimchi, hotdogs, ham and spicy soup. Need i say more? Next was the triple AAA steak Pizza, which actually threw us off by a lot. Its light upon picking up but very filling once consumed. The cheese and steak, the sauces--complimented each other into unison. Mind you, we ordered the 10" for 6 slices. Its small enough to help you try out a third dish which was the Teppan sausages and fries. I ordered it just because i was craving for costco hotdogs but turns out their sausages are better than costco. All three actually played well on our table making it an awesome place for Korean comfort cuisine. I definitely recommend this place, especially for their service. They are very attentive and also take initiative to make you as comfortable as you can be.

I had a wonderful experience with my co-workers at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and we were very big party but the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back again!!

I have been coming here for awhile, this is one of my go to late night Korean Pocha spots at Sheppard. It is a Korean pizza spot, at the same time, a cool spot to drink and have good conversations with friends. Not to loud, light nice and dim, and good simple vibes. I always start my nights here (10/10). Service is always good, sometimes busy, but they still try to keep up with customer service and comfortable (9/10). My friends came here, to drink and eat. We had the Korean signature Shrimbul pizza, with Ham and Cheese Korean egg roll. Delicious to the tea (10/10 🔥). Shrimbul Pizza, we got the largest size to share among four people and it was perfect. We got equal slices, delicious and filling. The sweet and savoury combination flavours are mind blowing for me all the time. Yummy, from the shrimp and Bulgogi on it 🤩 (10/10). We prefer in the side Ham and Cheese Korean egg roll (10/10). Another good one, I always order towards the end of the first round of food haha 🤭😊. So good, fresh, hot and delicious. Keep up with the amazing house made pizza (all made to order, all the food to be honest). Thank you for the amazing service, atmosphere and food 🔥✨ 10/10.

I went to Pizza Maru for their shrimpbul pizza last night and it was SO good. Obviously it was a guilty pleasure but I fully devoured it. This pizza was the perfect combination of sweet, savoury, spicy and tart. The service was only okay, no one smiled at us but everything was prompt. And the restaurant atmosphere is more like a loud club vibe, which is fun but not suitable for young families with babies.

3.8/5 The staff were attentive and pleasant. 5 stars for service! I suppose it’s a personal preference, but the pizza was thick and quick doughy. The two pizzas we tried were Hot Honey Sweet Potato and Seafood Bay, which we didn’t like all that much. I’ve had Japanese style pizza which we quite liked but this place didn’t hit the spot, unfortunately. For sides, we ordered the Korean BBQ Chicken Wings and Toppoki which were really good. I’d order these again. Good for a quick bite if you’re in the area.
