Peggy's Caribbean Cuisine

Ordered oxtail and ackee with saltfish, both large. Absolutely delicious. Even the rice and vegetables were delicious. I wanted to take pictures but we wolfed them both down too fast. They were that good. Everything in that area is great. Peggy's fits right in.

Taste is authentic , simple yet rich in flavour. Fry chicken was juicy and tender, curry has a nice flavour and rich colour. Diabetic or hypertensive people can eat comfortably. Nice home cooked meal!!

This cute little take out spot is another gem in the neighbourhood! I ordered the medium stew chicken with rice and peas, and of course said YES when asked if I wanted gravy on the rice. It was delicious, with the chicken seasoned and cooked just right. I'm not a huge rice person, and I REALLY liked the rice and peas! The coleslaw was good, but I always pick out carrots when they're cooked even a little (a personal preference). I was chatting with the girl behind he counter (Brandy) while I was waiting for my order, and learned that Peggy is her grandmother who was in the kitchen preparing the food. The wait wasn't very long at all, plus I don't mind a little wait for freshly cooked food. I'll definitely be returning to try another dish 😋

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Peggy's Caribbean Cuisine! Located at 402 Old Kingston Rd in Scarborough, this gem of a restaurant offers a true taste of the Caribbean right here in Toronto. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly staff and the vibrant, cozy atmosphere. The decor is charming, with colorful artwork and a warm, inviting vibe that sets the perfect tone for a delightful dining experience. The menu is packed with a variety of authentic Caribbean dishes, and everything I tried was bursting with flavor. I started with the jerk chicken, which was perfectly spiced and incredibly tender. The sides of rice and peas, and plantains complemented the meal beautifully. Each bite was a delightful blend of spices and textures, truly capturing the essence of Caribbean cuisine. I also sampled the curry goat, which was cooked to perfection, with tender meat and a rich, savory sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The portions were generous, and every dish was presented beautifully. The service at Peggy's is top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. They took the time to explain the different dishes and even recommended some great options for a first-timer like me. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and authenticity of the food. I left feeling not only satisfied but eager to return and try more of their delicious offerings. My only wish Is that I knew about Peggy's sooner! Her food is amazing and she has giant red fish snapper! How I've been missing out on this spot living in Durham for the past 20yrs is beyond me.....she saving lives out here this whole time! Google be lying about where the good spots are. I had to use a whole other app to even know Peggy's even existed. Google..fix up

We have ordered from Peggy’s twice now and would highly recommend you check out this new gem in Highland Creek. The food is incredible and the service is fantastic. We’ve ordered the curry goat with rice and peas as well as the jerk chicken. Both were amazing and the prices are also fair. See you again soon!

This place is delicious and great prices!! I got the jerk chicken sandwich and a patty with coco bun. They were both very good. Excited to have this spot in the Highland Village!! Jennifer was also very friendly and helpful!
